Valentine’s Greyhound Walk – Sunday, 16th February

Join us for a heartwarming Valentine’s Walk from the kennels!

📍 Meeting Time: From 9:00 AM, walk starts at 9:30 AM
📍 Route Options: A short, flat stroll along the lane or a longer walk for those wanting to stretch their legs
📍 Location: The Gable Boarding & Rehoming Kennels

Enjoy free refreshments, a fundraising raffle, and a small stall selling greyhound goodies. Plus, some of our wonderful greyhounds looking for homes would love to join in!

Today was Scooby’s (Scooby the Hulk) big day! After an 18 month wait this morning this gentle boy happily went home with his new family, and his new Greysis.
We wish them all the very best!

Ahoy there ship mates and land lovers.

My name is Captain Teddy and I am in a Foster home with a difference. You may of guessed it, I'm staying on a water vessel called a narrow boat. It is very long from bow to stern and not very wide from port to starboard. I'm enjoying the slow life and getting out and about. Even if it is too a local cafe or watering hole (pub) for some lunch.
I've met a number of small dogs and taking in all that nature has to offer with the sounds of the birds chirping.
There is a lot more to tell you that I am experiencing but this life is so exhausting I'm going for a lay down.

BERTIE ❤️

‘Ear ‘Ear!
Have you heard the one about the Greyhound who had semaphore ears, he was ……… ear-resistible!!

And this ear-resistible lad is the gorgeous Bertie who genuinely has the most iconic ears. Bertie is just 2 years old and looking for the chance of a very special home.

Bertie has had problems with his pelvis, all good now but it means that he really can’t be left to run around off lead either in a field or a large garden. He does however still love to play and really likes a teddy bear. He would be fine playing in a smaller garden.

Meet Max

This gorgeous brindle boy Max is patiently waiting for a chance at a forever home.

Max is 5 years old born December 2019, and retired from racing due to his age with no medical conditions.
He is very gentle dog, but he is a nervous boy around new people and situations so would be happiest in a quiet home either as a single dog or with a more placid dog companion to help him build in confidence.

Located near Maple Cross, Hertfordshire we would prefer to home Max direct from his current kennels rather than cause any needless stress to him.

We now have several more nervous dogs looking for homes so if you could help with either Emma, Henry (both also highlighted on page previously) or Max then please do get in touch. Given time and patience these dogs will blossom into the most wonderful pets.

***Homing update***

Recently little Marina (Mayses Marina) also went off to her new home. As you can see she has settled in very well and is thoroughly enjoying her new life with all the home comforts!

We wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff and customers at Coral Romford Greyhound Stadium where last night we raised an incredible £951.50 from our tombola.
As a small independent rehomer, this money will be used to help fund the kennel spaces we have for the 16 dogs currently in our care.

Foster opportunity

We are looking to help ease Henry’s transition into a home environment and are happy to offer a foster opportunity .
Henry would ideally need a quieter home with a carer who had the time and patience to work with him and help build his confidence. Ideally Greyhound experienced.

Another date for the diaries….

We have another lovely Greyhound event planned for Sunday 23rd February, our Nails and Social event.
Come along from 1.30 and have a relaxed couple of hours enjoy some tea and cake and chat all things Greyhound with likeminded friends.
There will be Greyhound goodies and a raffle as well as the chance to get your hounds nails trimmed.

BIG DAVE.

Looking for a forever home.

Dave is ready for viewing and will be ready in about 4 weeks time for adoption.
Dave is a 3 yr old gentle giant at 38 kilos but don't let that put you off. He has impeccable manners. Walks superbly on the lead. He has been around small dogs, cats and horses but no formal introduction has taken place.

Let’s introduce you to a very special little lady…

🩷SEVEN🩷

Now, you may need to read this twice as it’s like a little maths equation!

This wonderful little lady is Seven…she’s almost 6 years old…but in all honesty she is a 10/10! That’s the numbers done, so let’s tell you a bit about her!

Seven is an absolute sweetheart, she is a gentle little lady who is looking for her forever home where she can put her paws up and go for the odd walk everyday. She loves to spend her days sleeping and curling up with her kennelmate. We hardly know we have her!

She has always gotten on well with her boyfriend and would happily share a home with a fellow hound. She is laid back and walks beautifully on the lead. Whilst she likes her walks, she is a typical greyhound who then will snooze for the rest of the day!

Seven would fit into most household, we believe she would be homeable with children (subject to successful introductions and home check), although no cats! She hasn’t met other breeds yet but we are able to arrange this.
She could be the perfect “1st hound” if you’re considering adding a greyhound to your family!

Seven turns 6 years old in February and we would love to see her in her forever home sooner rather than later as this girl is an absolute gem!
