Bactrian Camels are pros when it comes to embracing extreme weather conditions in their native ranges, with temperatures that swing between +40°C in the summer and -30°C in the winter ❄️

🌨 Due to adverse weather and travel conditions, the zoo is closed today (Sunday, 5th).
⁉️NOTE: Our offices are currently CLOSED, and all ENCOUNTERS have been cancelled. If you had tickets or encounters, please get in contact from Monday 6th, when our office team will be back on-site to assist you.
Our dedicated keeper team is on site caring for our animals!

🐾 Meet Nessa and Smithy, our Pine Marten pair here at the Welsh Mountain Zoo.
💞 Just like their on-screen namesakes from #GavinandStacey these two have a fiery on-off relationship. Fiercely independent, they only meet during their breeding period.
🌳 They're part of the Welsh Mountain Zoo's important breeding and release programme, helping to reintroduce Pine Martens back into the wilds of Wales.
