These are the new and updated small and large outworlds! Along with the Medium outworld we introduced a few days ago, these will also be flat-packed and priced lower than the current versions.

Both are made from 3mm cast Perspex.

These should be on the website over the next few days for shipping from the 27th May. We are away next week taking a much needed break.

We updated our outworlds back in January, but we are only just getting the chance to add them to the website due to the huge influx of orders of our Leaf Cutter setups.

This is the new Medium Outworld, we have also updated the small, but more exciting the large! They are exactly the same size as the current ones, but these were redesigned to be flat-pack. Our usual side braces and the new bottom braces should make this outworld, and the other updated outworlds fine for small and even very small species.

We are looking for a current UK customer of ours who has a large colony of a tiny species of ant to test this out for us. We will ship this to you so you can see how it holds up. Send us a DM.

Our current main outworlds are all glued, but this isn't. The extra braces and metal connectors ensure a tight fit and have held up to our Lasius colony with no issues.

Detailed instructions are provided, and it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to assemble. As usual, all acrylic in these is 3mm cast Perspex.

This, and the other updated outworlds should be on the website next week.

This is the new, 2024 version, large feeding pod for leaf cutter ants! We've been using the previous version of this for the last 18 months for our colony, but it was too large to ship safely. It has now been redesigned to be flat pack!

It's huge at 480mm x 390mm x 300mm and features three areas to add your oil or escape fluid to meaning you can even leave the secure, screwed lids off if you like and have a natural vine going into the pod for an extra 'wow' factor.

You can use this not only with our other leaf cutter pods, but your own setups. It has 4x 32mm OD acrylic tube entrances which feature nice ramps for the colony to use. Any entrances you're not using can be blocked off or add mesh inserts into for even more airflow. It also sits perfectly next to our new 2024, flat pack Quad Heating box! See the images, but more on this in our next post.

This should be added to the website next week for worldwide shipping. The first few will be on their way to customers over the next two weeks also.

This is our updated Leaf Cutter Feeding Pod. It is slightly larger than the older version, but this version importantly features three separate surfaces to add your escape prevention. There is an extra piece of acrylic towards the top which you can add your escape prevention to the underside of. You can also add it to the sides of the pod above this, and also the underside of the top piece.

These pods, especially the heating box, were hard to ship, but this is now also flat-pack meaning we should be able to ship it almost anywhere.

Look out for the updated dumping pod soon, which looks similar to this but shorter in height.

An updated flat-pack heating box for our Leaf Cutter setups is nearly ready. The issue with our original heating box was that it wasn't flat-pack, so it was hard to ship in the UK, and impossible to ship overseas due to its size.

This updated version is exactly the same size and features dual heat cables, however, it is now flat-pack and can be constructed in under 30 minutes.

We have also updated our Feeding Pod and Dumping Pod, these are now different in size from each other and we should have them ready to show in the next day or so, but they feature three independent surfaces to add your ant escape protection to for total security. The feeding pod will be flat-pack, but we recommend you have us glue the Dumping Pod due to possible moisture sitting in the base, even with the ventilation it has, more on that on their post soon.

The new and updated 2024 leaf cutter pod has passed all its testing! This version replaces the plaster with clay balls. These are covered in metal mesh and Perspex.

The first updated pods are shipping next week, with another six full kits shipping the week after.

The full setup has been collection only due to the first couple of heat boxes getting smashed by the courier. However, we have now sourced some extra strong boxes, and with some new packaging methods, we will be doing some test shipments of these over the coming weeks (within the UK only).

We are also going the extra mile and looking at the possibility of making the heating box flat-pack whilst still making them heat optimal after construction without the glue they currently are constructed with.

Available now on the website are the new feeders in 14 colours and three sizes, ranging from 1ml - 5ml.

Limited initial stock of all colours apart from the 'paper white', which is going to be the replacement for the current 'White Mini Feeders' on the website in 2.5ml and 5ml sizes. The Micro base still exists for the 1ml vial size separately.

This is our first 'Build Your Own' product. The internal dimensions are identical to our Mini Outworld at 100mm x 100mm x 80mm (L x W x H). We are able to offer this outworld at an incredible price point due to the fact these Mini Outworld pieces are used to fill gaps when cutting other pieces on the laser cutter. At the moment, we have about 200 of these available at this price point, so when they are gone, they are gone.

This product comes flat pack and will need to be assembled, and should take no more than 15 minutes. Detailed instructions are provided.

The rim to add your PTFE fluid is slightly smaller than on the glued Mini Outworld so if you have a large species please be mindful that you might have to add the fluid to the sides of the outworld. During our tests, we have been able to construct this with no gaps, but some tiny gaps might be present when building yourself, so this might not be appropriate for tiny species. You should opt for one of our constructed and glued outworlds if this is the case.
