Let’s Get Ready!

Top Tips 🐑🐄✨

1. Colostrum is Key: Quality and Timing Matter
🐑 Ensure lambs and calves receive colostrum within the first few hours of birth. Ensure they receive at least 10% of their body weight in colostrum in the first 24 hours.
🐄 Test colostrum quality using a colostrometer.
🐑 Administer colostrum promptly, as the absorption rate decreases rapidly after the first 6 hours.

2. Hygiene First: Clean and Comfortable Environment
🐮 Keep lambing and calving areas clean, dry, and well-ventilated to reduce the risk of infections.
🐑 Use clean bedding, and regularly remove soiled materials to maintain a hygienic birthing environment. We recommend a powdered disinfectant for floors as it keeps the flooring dry, so not as cold for newborns to lay on.
🐄 Practice good personal hygiene when handling newborns to prevent the spread of potential pathogens.

3. Nutrition Matters: Support Mothers and Offspring
