Nothing to see here just Narla dancing her way into the week with her fabulous, dancing toes 👸🏼
The beautiful Penelope strutting her stuff this evening. Penelope is a true credit to her owners and their hard work, she’s virtually unrecognisable from our first session! Her concentration and responsiveness is so wonderful, good girl Penelope 😍❤️
Double pug down stays! Can you believe @itsnellypug only started learning a down very recently and now she’s smashing out big distraction stays in public around her buddy @thepancakepug ⭐️ absolute star!
We need to talk about Truffle. Isn’t she insanely beautiful? 😍 @truffle_andtreats had an amazing first training session today and I’m looking forward to seeing her again soon. Good girl Truffle!
The one, the only, his fluffy holiness Duke the Pom showing off some lovely crate training. Here he’s learning to go in on cue and wait to be told he can come out even when the door isn’t shut, this way we can build up to closing the door as he progresses. Good boy Duke 🤓
That’s one heavily proofed “settle”, well done @thepancakepug 🥰😇 what’s your favourite cue for helping your dog cope with your environment? I find settle so helpful as Pancake is super sociable & would love to say hello to everyone but living in London thats not achievable so instead he knows something calm to do instead. Most importantly, he knows he’s well paid for it! ⭐️
Tiny little Duke had his first off lead walk time today, I slowed it down so you can enjoy it for longer (you’re welcome 😂) happy Saturday 🤩
Hopping into the weekend like... 🐻
Once again, I feel compelled to post a video of Pancake having his nails done. Routinely I see videos of a pug screaming and trying to escape from having their nails tended to and many people comment stating how funny this or that this is just like their dog, because “it’s a pug thing”. The sad truth is that this is a “fear thing” and in fact it is our responsibility as dog owners and guardians to introduce them to these necessary aspects of their care with kindness and understanding. The unknown is always frightening, so instead we need to acknowledge that and overcome it together. I predominantly use the dremel for Pancake now as he prefers it, and honestly so do I, it’s less scary to use than normal clippers! It took time to positively associate him to the sound and sensation, but as you can see it was well worth doing. His weekly trim is a bonding experience, not a battle. When he fidgets or pulls his paw away, we stop and have a break until he settles again. Each paw completed gets a treat (though originally of course it took many more frequent snack breaks!) and at the end I use my “finished” cue where he jumps up excitedly looking for another treat. This is much bigger than just nail trimming. There is no need for fear and fight with our dogs, kindness and understanding is the route to a happy, respectful relationship between you. ❤️
Happy Tuesday! Little Duke is jumping for joy after practicing some amazing recall, drop, leave & lead training. What an absolute superstar he is 😍
