Cats in hot weather. Many of you are asking about methods to keep cats cool. Some people use fans. Specially designed gel mats are a very useful option too. The biggest thing is making sure there is plenty of water available. Put an ice cube in the bowl if your cat likes it extra cold.

If you keep curtains closed and windows closed in a cool room of the house this can help too. The heat often carries on the breeze so an open window allows the room to become as hot as the air outside

Cats are usually very good at regulating their own temperature and will seek shady spots to rest in. Some are sun lovers and go the other way and just bask in the sun shine.

A very special guest celebrating his 19th birthday. Party for all our residents and Elmo really enjoyed his special birthday cake. We managed to just !! save the candles (unlit of course) before he tucked in with vigour.

COVID UPDATE - from Thursday 4th November ....We will remain open as animal welfare remains a concern during this pandemic. Full COVID secure measures are in place to keep everyone and every animal safe.

We are more than happy to take in animals at short notice should anyone fall ill during these testing times and find the need for urgent animal care. Collection service (socially distanced) is available.

Currently we have Matilda, Tuna, Freya and Humphrey all enjoying their stay with us.

Loads of cuddles and treats and all tucked away inside in the warm whilst the wind and rain swirl around outside

Looking forward to meeting many more of our feline friends (and their human mummies and daddies too).

Anyone worried about fireworks why not consider a short term 2 or 3 night stay here at Low Furrow. We are situated in a rural setting well away from any towns and villages so very very little interference from the noises and bangs of fireworks.
