Welcome to 4PAWS Dog Walking service for the Banbury and surrounding area. My name is Teresa, I have grown up with dogs and small furry friends from the age of 12 and have enjoyed walking dogs ever since. I have worked in an office environment for over 30 years but decided it was time for a change of career and to start up a dog walking business. He was with our family for about 14 years and left

a huge impression. Since then I have had several rescue dogs with my last dog being a little lady called Maggie, who was a Basset/Beagle cross. We lost her in May 2020. I am Fully Insured, DBS Checked and have my Certificate in Dog First Aid. Since starting my dog walking business I have acquired an Ofqual qualification Level 3 in Home Boarding and Doggy daycare. (Registered with Cherwell Council- Licence No HOM0063). Walks- We are a friendly and reliable service offering one on one walks which means that your dog receives a more bespoke service. This is especially useful if your dog is a little bit nervous or requires a more peaceful experience. Although we will walk up to three dogs from one family at any one time if required. Visits- If you are wanting someone to visit your home to check on your dog, we also offer this service. This can include a roam around the garden or a 10 minute walk and topping up of food and water. This service is not exclusive to dogs, we will visit your home to check on cats and other small furry friends. Boarding- Whether your going away for one night or going away for a week or two, we provide an individual tailored service for your dog/s, welcoming them into our family home where they can enjoy the perfect holiday. We allow full access to the downstairs of our house and secure garden. Your dog/s will spend their days/evenings with us and receive lots of love, exercise, attention, playtime and cuddles. Daycare- Also if your at work all day and worried about getting back late, or if your dog is destructive if left for long periods, then why not try our daycare service? We will ensure your dog/s have walks and company while your away.

❄️ WHAT IS FROSTBITE? ❄️

Frostbite is damage caused to the skin and other tissues as a result of prolonged exposure to extreme cold.

❄️ WHO IS AT RISK OF FROSTBITE? ❄️

Any pet who spends a prolonged period exposed to extremely cold weather has the potential to be affected by frostbite. However, there are some factors which may heighten the risk of your dog getting frostbite:

• Medical conditions that affect blood flow
• Wet fur
• Short hair
• Small in size
• Illness
• Old age

❄️ HOW DOES FROSTBITE OCCUR? ❄️

Prolonged contact with cold temperatures causes the body to close blood vessels that are near the skin to preserve a stable core body temperature.

Blood vessels start to narrow or constrict. Sometimes, this protective mechanism can reduce blood flow to critically low levels in some areas of the body (particularly the extremities). The combination of cold temperatures and reduced blood flow can allow the tissues to freeze, causing severe tissue injury.

You should immediately contact your vet so that they can give the correct advice for your particular situation.
