🎶✨ Carols at the Stables ✨🎶

What a truly heart-warming evening at the stables, beautifully led by Joya and Peter. Huge thanks to Four Marks School and their wonderful choir, led by Mrs Cook, for filling the night with festive cheer and stunning voices.

With mulled wine in hand, tunes in the air, and fire pits glowing, it was the perfect way to celebrate the season together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a special night 🎄🔥🎶

Winter and horses… as a team we throw on all our waterproofs and muck in as a team! The yard was full of Christmas tinsel and snowball games in lessons 🎄

Todays theme tune we were all singing was ‘your a mean one.. Mr Grinch’!!

We’re so proud to be able to have some of our wonderful ponies borrowed by a few of our volunteers who are currently students. This gives them the opportunity to complete their practical assessment videos and gain valuable hands-on experience.

It’s so special to see our ponies helping the next generation learn, grow, and build confidence, and we’re thankful to have such dedicated volunteers who care for them like their own. 🐴✨

An Update on Our Wonderful William 💙

Around 8 weeks ago, William came in from the field sweaty and clearly uncomfortable. After 24 hours of being stabled with close monitoring, he showed no signs of improvement. At that point, our wonderful vets were called and investigations began.

One of the senior vets examined William, took blood samples, and—quite understandably—left scratching his head. Not long after, we received the phone call no one ever wants to get. William was in dangerous waters, with extremely high liver enzymes, and was diagnosed with liver disease—something that, in horses, sadly comes with a low success rate.

Emotions were running high across the whole team. William is such a special pony, and the uncertainty was incredibly hard for everyone involved.

Thanks to careful management from the whole team, ongoing monitoring, and incredible support from our vets, we are pleased to share that William is making good progress. While we are not completely out of the woods yet, his journey so far has been very encouraging.

With regular blood testing and carefully managed medication, William has now returned to quiet ridden work with staff members, which is a huge milestone for him.

Thank you to all our volunteers and staff for your continued kindness, dedication, and belief in our ponies. William is feeling the love every step of the way—and we’ll continue to keep you updated as he moves forward 🐴✨

Broadlands have been invited to offer 10 current participants the opportunity
to become Pony Club Members with no membership charge!

If your young person may be interested in this exciting opportunity, please email [email protected] so I can add you to our register.

With thanks to the Pony Club, by becoming a member your young person will get the opportunity to partake in a variety of Pony Club activities which can lead to certificates, badges and above all offer them a huge advantage if they would like to pursue a career in the equine industry, or perhaps they would just like to enhance their riding ability and equine knowledge.

The cost for these sessions are as follows:
30 minutes 1:1 £30.00 + £3.00 to cover cost for badges
1hr 1:1 £60.00 + £3.00 to cover cost for badges.

This can be covered by funding if you currently have that in place.

Unless you already have sessions with Hayley, these are provisionally going to be run on Tuesday mornings, but please let us know if there is a preferred day/time and we can look to see if we can accommodate for you.

Every year, this incredible display brings joy to the community—and this year, it is helping us bring even more joy, confidence, and freedom to the people we support. Every penny donated goes directly to Broadlands Group RDA, and every contribution makes a genuine difference.

The show features breathtaking Christmas lights, festive music perfectly timed to every twinkle, and even falling snow! Throughout December you’ll enjoy classic Christmas favourites, and after the 25th, the lights dance along to upbeat pop hits. New features are added every year—so even if you’ve visited before, prepare to be amazed all over again.
