Walkies Of Headington Walkies is a friendly and reliable dog walking service for east of Oxford, Headington and Cowley What do we do?

We walk five days a week, rain, shine, in sleet and snow, to give your dogs the regular exercise and company they need to keep mentally and physically well. We cover Headington, Cowley, and villages surrounding East Oxford. If you live outside this area, please contact us as we may be able to help you.

Just to let folks know, we will be walking early today (Thurs 16th) and tomorrow (Friday 17th) to avoid the hottest weather. We will be in the woods and we will be taking it easy and may well cut the walks short.(Vera would rather sleep in the shade!)

Dear All,

As some of you know, I had planned to spend a long weekend in Barcelona with my daughter. Well as Covid19 took hold in Spain, I decided to cut my trip short and returned yesterday morning to ensure that I could weather the storm at home.

While I was in Spain, we chose not to do the tourist route and unnecessarily expose ourselves to the virus, instead spent time walking on the empty beaches and eating in quiet restaurants. We were not in a virus hot spot and took all precautions to stay well. Neither my daughter or I are experiencing any symptoms.

Now I am back in the UK the realisation has hit, that all businesses but especially small businesses like Walkies of Headington will be badly affected. As this develops in the UK, my aim is to continue to provide our dog walking services, taking all sensible precautions, hand sanitising, using my own leads, wiping any surfaces, touching as little as possible, and in my private life staying home to minimise the risk of infection.
As this develops, more of us will be working from home, and may well consider cancelling dog walking (and other) services.

My request is when making this decision that we consider not only the current risk but the longer term outlook for a small businesses, like Walkies. Please could you inform me if you intend to be working from home or are self-isolating so we can put in further infection controls.

My thoughts are with all of us at this uncertain time, stay safe and stay well,
