Jess loves toast and Bovril !
Apollo’s Angel rescue from Cyprus
Jess loves toast and Bovril !
Been sad today: after my lovely walk yesterday mum and dad washed me cos I’d been wading in the black sludgy mud in the woods. Then I had my dinner… and spent the rest of the night being sick 🙈.
Mum and dad felt guilty at first, thinking maybe they didn’t rinse my fur enough (tick repellent shampoo it was and smelled like pine trees), then they blamed the worming tablets they’d given me at dinner… and then mum got anxious that maybe I’d eaten some bluebells… or snaffled some fox-poo…
They both kept checking my nose (why do humans do that?!) and seemed to feel happy about me.
I had scrambled egg and rice for lunch and felt a lot better afterwards.
So mum took a photo for you so you know I’m ok… and wanted to warn you all about the spring flowers here in the UK that are poisonous cos she didn’t realise till today:

Took a walk down our local woods today: Jess’ favourite. Loads of bluebells, ran around in the fields and then made a new friend for a game of tug-the-stick 🥰
Happy Gotcha Day #2! Glorious weather for her favourite walk. 2 years on since we adopted our beautiful girl, she stays close on a walk like we’d had her since a puppy. This last 5 months has seen her turn another corner and she even gets up on the sofa between us for a cuddle these days 🥰 Couldn’t be without her!
The perfect morning walk followed by a trip to the seaside and our first taste of ice cream 🥰
Holiday in Dartmoor: lots of lovely walks (kept in the lead as there were loose sheep, cows and ponies)… we liked the ponies. The little foals we’re brave enough to come and say hello 🥰. Jess was very well behaved and absolutely loved the sea!
Roadtrip! We normally have her in the boot of the Jeep behind the dog guard, but the boot is full!
Exploring a new walk, so nice to feel more confident in her recall. 🥰
Bless her: how on earth did she cope with Cyprus?! Doesn’t like the heat one bit… 🥴
Don’t like rainy days much: think I’ll just chill here on the sofa and watch mum do the ironing…
Jess loves racing around in long grass: this is one of her favourite walks. A box of cheese always brings her back to Dad’s side. Such a fabulous dog: she now can walk past a cat 5 feet away and ignore it. She’s come on so brilliantly 💕👏🏻
Check up and booster jabs at the vets today. So proud of Jess, she was impeccably behaved and much more confident than her last visit 🥰… and she’s put on 3kg too. Such a fabulous little girl 💕
Jess enjoying her first Christmas: didn’t take her long to understand unwrapping presents 💕🎄
What a day she’s had: a “puppachino” (tepid frothed milk) at the cafe, a trip to the pet shop for her present (finally, a squirrel!!) a lovely walk in the woods, and steak for dinner. She’s so well behaved she deserves every bit of it! Love you sweetheart 💕
Happy 2nd Birthday Jess!
Jess’ 6 month blood check results all came back negative, bless her 🙏💕
Jess enjoying the freedom of her training lead
Chilling in the sun 🥰
There must be something special about this patch on the lawn: Reuben used to lie in exactly the same spot. Jess loves her garden and always goes to the same place 🥰
I didn’t realise the real reason we went to the shop though: I’ve got a little tear in one of my pads and now I’ve got this silly thing to wear when I go for a walk 🙄
Mum took me to the pet shop today. She said I was very well behaved so I got a bag full of treats 🥰
We’ll never know the life she led before coming to us: was she a stray, abandoned, a hunter? But Jess certainly enjoys her home comforts... look who’s been sleeping on my bed?!
Bless! 💕
I swear that little lady is smiling...
Jess, playing ball in the sunshine, she’s come on so much in just 5 weeks: happy, relaxed and so much more confident 💕

Recall: getting serious now our training lead has arrived! This is Jess’ first attempt and to be fair I’ve probably gone too far away but I’m new at this too 🙈. Jess did brilliantly, came to call every time and really enjoyed being able to really run for the first time in weeks.
5 minute drive away. Jess getting to grips with her harness, lots of smells: we seem to fancy the rabbits! I reckon there’s some terrier in her genes somewhere! We paddled in the stream, saw a kingfisher and a jay, met lots of other dogs and were very well behaved, even in the car 💕
She does the same, but quicker, clearly remembers the cheese reward! I’m guessing the whistle gets her attention but she hears me calling her and seems to respond better to that. Time to consolidate by repeating over the next weeks/months from various places... Well done Jess 👏🏻💕
Jess had the zoomies this morning so thought we’d play ball... she retrieves and hands back better than any of the dogs I’ve ever had before ❤️
Feeling quite at home and a bit bouncy today. So we tried some training to occupy her mind. She understands “come” and “sit” already so she’s either been taught this before or is a little genius!
