♥️🐶🐾 It’s Feels Good To Be Back! 🐾🐶♥️

We have had a wonderful first week back after returning home from holiday! The dogs have all given us a very warm welcome back greeting us with lots of slobbery kisses, wagging tails, and muddy paws! ♥️🐶🐾

We’re home and Woof & Roam is officially back open as usual! We have had a wonderful holiday but we are ready and raring to get back to doing what we love the most and spend some quality time with all your pooches! ♥️🐶🐾

🐾 Impawtant Announcement 🐾

Woof & Roam is now officially closed and will reopen on Tuesday 27th May 2025. I am heading off on holiday today which means that all messages and calls will be responded to on Tuesday 27th May when I return.

📖 The Woof & Roam Book Club 📖

The third book our book club have read is Hope - How street dogs taught me the meaning of life by Niall Harbison. ♥️🐶🐾

This book follows the life of Niall as he navigates his way through a problematic life, how he overcame the troubles he faced, and how he ended up in Thailand helping street dogs. The book touches on some difficult topics but it is such a wholesome read. 📖

Niall describes the new life he made for himself in Thailand and introduces us to a selection of the dogs he feeds, spays, rehabilitates, and re-homes he also talks about the strain all the hard work takes on a person doing this single handedly. There are some remarkable recovery stories in this book and we would definitely recommend you give it a read. 📖

The next book our book club will be reading is The Dog Park Detectives by Blake Mara! ♥️🐶🐾

🌞 Walking On Sunshine 🌞

We have had another glorious week with wonderful weather and lots of very happy pooches! We have been able to get through the week with as little disruption as possible and I just wanted to thank all the owners whose walks had been affected for being so understanding. All the pooches have enjoyed switching things up and they have loved their visits to the river! Hopefully normal weather will resume soon! ♥️🐶🐾

♥️🐶🐾 Down By The River 🐾🐶♥️

With this week’s temperatures expected to be high again there may be some disruption to our normal schedule however I will keep affected owners updated if this happens. ♥️

This week our walks will look more like this with plenty of shade and just the right amount of playtime in the water. I will of course try bring them back as dry as possible but if you could please leave a towel out for me on drop off I can give them a second towel dry. ♥️🐶🐾

♥️🐶🐾 Welcome To The Family 🐾🐶♥️

May we introduce the newest member of the Woof and Roam family! This handsome chap joined our group walks a couple weeks ago and has been a wonderful new addition. He has been enjoying getting to know his new pooch pals and he can’t resist a good game of ball! I am very much looking forward to all the adventures we’ll be going on together! ♥️🐶🐾

🌞 Feeling Hot Hot Hot! 🌞

With predicted weather temperatures set to rise for the rest of this week we may have to implement our extreme weather policy. 🌞

This means that the time of our walks may change so that we are not walking during the hottest parts of the day and it could mean that our walks have to be shortened to reduce the dogs exposure to the heat. It will mean that our walking locations will change to incorporate more wooded / shaded areas where we will have access to water to allow the dogs the opportunity to stay cool. Walks will also be less strenuous and on lead so the dogs are not over exerting themselves while we are out and about. 🌞

I will be keeping a closer eye on the dogs who are deemed as more vulnerable including puppies, senior pooches, double coated breeds, brachycephalic breeds, and any dogs who are overweight. 🌞

If it is decided that it is not safe for your dog to join us on a walk we will offer a home visit in place of their walk. A home visit will consist of 1-1 time with your pooch, the opportunity to toilet, and lots of mental stimulation to tire them out. If we decide that home visits are the safer option we will prioritise the dogs who are home alone. 🌞

We will evaluate the chance of walks being changed to home visits each morning as the Great British weather is always changing. 🌞

🍾 Bottle Appeal 🍾

On Friday we dropped the first delivery of bottles donated by our wonderful owners down to Overgate Hospice for their Wine or Water and Bottle Tombola stall! We delivered 10 bottles kindly donated by Clare Laverick, Heather Boulton, Karen Armsden, Karen Miller, Sarah Reynolds, and Jennifer Daniels! Thank you so much ladies! 🍾

If you’re unaware, our good friend Beth works at Overgate Hospice and is appealing for donations of full, unopened bottles of anything to put on two of their stalls in May. We are collecting bottles from our owners and dropping them off at the hospice on their behalf. If you have any bottles lying around the house please consider donating them to Overgate. If you can’t get them to the Hospice yourself get in touch and I can collect from you and drop them off. 🍾

♥️🐶🐾 Welcome To The Woof & Roam Family 🐾🐶♥️

A couple of weeks ago we introduced this distinguished gentlemen in to the Woof & Roam family and, despite being the second eldest pooch on our walks, this week was the first time I’ve managed to keep him still enough to pose for a photo! He’s usually too busy keeping up and playing with all the young whipper snappers he now calls friends. ♥️🐶🐾

Today we are celebrating all those amazing pets we have in our lives, from the furry ones, to the scaly ones.
