Iām vegan. And this is where vegan dog diets go wrong.
People say if vegan dog food is ācomplete,ā thereās no risk.
Thatās not what the data shows.
Analyses of commercial vegan dog foods have found many fail to meet AAFCO or FEDIAF nutrient standards, even when labeled complete.
Common gaps include methionine, vitamin D, calcium balance, and omega-3s. These deficiencies are often silent and cumulative.
Even veterinary organisations say the jury is still out and urge caution, not promotion.
Animal welfare has to come before ideology.
