Coached by Crysta Brown and Don Beard

Horsemanship shown by Emily Blair placed 7th
Showmanship shown by Holly Barr placed 5th
Equitation shown by Zac Hanna placed 6th
Ranch Riding shown by Jessica Dunlop took home 7th

Jessica Dunlop also participated in the HorseIQ Judging contest and was apart of the 5th place team for Limited Youth Halter

These kids have grown so much through this process and learned so much from the experience of seeing the APHA World Championship Show! So proud of each one for their great displays of horsemanship and sportsmanship.

Below is an email sent to APHA members today from our CEO, Dave Dellin.

Greetings APHA Members,

As stewards of the American Paint Horse breed, we are entrusted with a profound responsibility to safeguard the welfare and well-being of our beloved horses. This responsibility extends beyond the show ring or the ranch, into all corners of our community.

Our commitment to the welfare of our horses is not just an obligation; it is a cornerstone of our values and principles. The American Paint Horse Association stands firm in its dedication to ensuring the highest standards of care and compassion for our equine partners.

Each and every one of us plays a crucial role in upholding these standards. Whether you are a breeder, trainer, exhibitor or enthusiast, your actions and decisions directly impact the welfare of our horses. From proper nutrition and healthcare to humane training methods and responsible breeding practices, we must prioritize the physical and mental well-being of our animals above any title or award.

Moreover, as ambassadors of the Paint Horse breed, we have a duty to lead by example. By demonstrating our unwavering commitment to animal welfare, we not only enhance the reputation of our association but also inspire others within the equine industry to follow suit.

As a community, we must always speak up when we witness something that endangers the welfare of our horses. If you have witnessed or suspect animal abuse, you should immediately contact your local police or sheriff’s office to report the behavior. If any parties are indicted and convicted of animal cruelty by a criminal court, the offender may be suspended or expelled from membership in APHA and denied all privileges (GR-060.F.).

For more information about APHA disciplinary procedures or to report a violation of APHA rules, please contact APHA’s Director of Compliance at [email protected].

Remember the love of the horse that fuels us all as horsemen and -women, and strive to do right by the animals who have given us so much.

Dave Dellin
Chief Executive Officer
American Paint Horse Association

Can wait to be back next year - thanks Bruce, Tina and all our Paint and non-Paint members and friends who made it such a great weekend!
