💜 Heatstroke in dogs can become an emergency quickly!

💜 If your dog is showing signs of heat-related illness:

🐾 COOL FIRST, TRANSPORT SECOND.

(You may also hear this shared as wet, then vet.)

💜 Warning signs can include:

⚠️ Heavy panting
⚠️ Distressed or noisy breathing
⚠️ Drooling
⚠️ Vomiting or diarrhoea
⚠️ Confusion
⚠️ Weakness, wobbling, or collapse

💜 If you spot these signs, move your dog to a cool, shaded, or well-ventilated space and start cooling them straight away. Use cold water immersion for young, healthy dogs, or pour water that is cooler than your dog over them while using airflow from a fan, breeze, or air conditioning.

💜 Cooling an overheated dog with water will not send them into shock. The priority is to bring their body temperature down as quickly and safely as possible.

💜 Once cooling has started, call your vet immediately. Even if your dog seems brighter, they may still need urgent care.

🐶 Save this post so you know what to do in an emergency, and share it with another dog owner.

We have sadly had a deceased cat brought into us this morning. He is an entire male tabby on his head,back,legs and tail and white everywhere else. Found on Bagley Street, opposite Lawrence Street.

Unfortunately he does not a microchip.

We are trying to find his owners if you have any information please call us 01384 389045.

We sadly have had a deceased cat brought into us, She is black and white girl wearing a yellow collar with a bell. She was found by one stop near Pear Tree lane.

She sadly does not have a microchip so we are trying to locate her owner.

****UPDATE***

Following two failed adoption attempts we are happy to report the RSPCA have taken him under their wing 🥰

Following on from our recent post… we have been unable to track down the owner for our stray cat and due to him now being over a week in our care, we are looking to find a new home for him. Unfortunately, we do not have the facilities to house him here 24/7 and we feel he needs a loving home where more time can be dedicated to him❤️

He has recovered and has been microchipped as well as treated for fleas and worms, and so is ready to go to his new home as soon as possible!

He is a shy/scared boy at first but once you have gained his trust, he loves a fuss around his face and purrs loudly when having cuddles🥹

We have estimated his age to be around 2 and he is able to use a litter tray.

Following on from our post yesterday…
This is the black & white cat that was bought into our practice.
Unfortunately no microchip has been detected.
If anyone knows who this lovely chap belongs to or if you recognise this cat as yours, please contact the practice ASAP.

We have had an injured Black and white cat brought into the practice this morning. He has a black moustache and is not chipped.
If you have any information, please call the practice. Thank you. He was found in the Brierley hill area.
