Rubie aged 2, mixed breed, 23 kg. Rubie is currently in a foster placement and this is what her foster carer says about her - Rubie has a nice nature, she is kind loving and gentle,typical of a young dog inquisitive,curious and playful as well as having a calmer independent side. Rubie is sociable and friendly with people (men and women) children and other dogs. She walks quite well on a lead and travels well in a car. Rubie is looking for an experienced and confident home, could live with a friendly,well behaved dog or be the only dog in the home - we would consider 1 child aged (10+) who is confident and dog savvy. Rubie has been neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Mini - aged 3, mixed breed, medium size. Mini and her brother were abandoned however despite this she is a nice balanced dog, confident and sociable with people, other dogs and children. She enjoys her walks and is eager to please. Mini could live with another friendly dog/s or be the only pet in the home, she has been neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Darcie's Rescue Dogs UK was set up by a dedicated group of likeminded people who after visiting a dog shelter on the Island of Aegina and numerous dog shelters on mainland Greece all full to bursting with unwanted, neglected and traumatised dogs decided to do something to help. Darcie (after the name of the rescue) became a much loved Greek dog adopted by one of our members after she saw her standing in the middle of a pen in a dog shelter, surrounded by lots of other dogs and just staring into space - she had been dumped there by her "owner" who decided to just give up her accommodation and go off travelling, Darcie was 12 years old at the time . Dog shelters are a totally unnatural environment for any dog to live in so we have stepped in to help all the surplus dogs in these shelters who will not find homes in Greece because they are the wrong colour, too big, too old, not pretty enough the list is endless really. We will rehome to anywhere in the UK, insist on carrying out a home check and provide full rescue back up and free behavioural support if required from a qualified Dog Psychologist specialising in street/stray foreign dogs.
