Very sorry if this post comes off as dry, but I think this is very important to clarify! 🙏
I totally admit I haven't been great at publishing information, but this is down to a hectic life and me not liking the marketing side of things - would much rather be out with the pooches! I promise to be better going forward on the Facebook and public profile side of this.
For all that have currently booked a pet sit: I will honour the prices we have agreed regardless of what I post for future pet sitting rates, I feel this is only fair as that is what we have agreed.
This also DOES NOT AFFECT the dog walking rates whatsoever.

Due to some negative coverage on pet sitting, and since there seems to be such demand for it, I wanted to make some clarifications about how I considered pet sitting and its rates, and how I will do so in the future:
Firstly, I am aware I will need to do something far more official for pet sitting! I am in the process of more intensive research and figuring this out right now.
To clarify, I have been offering pet sitting more so AS A FAVOUR on a case-by-case basis until I felt ready and had more knowledge on this side of the pet service industry - I have not been pet sitting to make profit, but to learn and as a favour for introductory clients as the demand in Caithness seems so high. The prices I have set so far have reflected this - on the low side but this was because of my own hesitance.
I have seen some posts on social media which have made me aware that my approach so far has simply not been good enough; so I will be publishing a proper price list on this.
It is becoming necessary to think about official documentation for and consider my own 'wage' out of the pet sitting service - It would be highly inappropriate going forward to have prices below the minimum wage. Please accept my sincerest apologies for the lack of information on pet sitting thus far, and please understand that this was down to the simple matter of naivety and figuring it out.
I should also clarify: I can only do VISITATION-based pet sitting. I am indeed insured to do the visitation service - but in order to have dogs over at my own residence I would need to have a special license from the council in order to do so.
I am also in the process of getting my dog first aid certification - this will be completed in the next couple of days if not imminently.
Again, please allow me to reiterate my apologies for my lack of information on the topic of pet sitting, I promise going forward that I will make this an official service offered and have the right information available for you to make the correct choices for your beloved pets.
