Since getting my own rescue dog, Apollo, in September 2022, I decided straight away to take a break from dog walking/sitting. This was to allow time for Apollo to decompress, settle in and also allow us to enjoy quality time together whilst we all got to know one another.
Apollo has had a really bad start in life and as a result, when he was found in the streets of Greece at only 6 months old, he had to have one of his eyes removed as it was so badly ulcerated. It is believed that he was likely badly beaten around the head 💔
As many of you know, it can take at least 6 months for rescue dogs who have been abused by human beings to learn to feel at home and trust again.
Although we still have a lot of work to do with Apollo,as you can see from these photos, he seems to be happy, settled and absolutely loving his new life!
I am now open again for dog walking and short-break small animal sitting enquiries 🐾🐶

I recently had the absolute pleasure of looking after this gorgeous ball of energy 6 month old puppy for 3 days in his own home! 😍 This wee boy is such a wonderful character, so well behaved, and his zest for life was infectious! As you can see, we enjoyed some wonderful walks, lots of playtime at home, and loads of lovely cuddles 🐶 ❤️ Needless to say, this special boy completely stole my heart 😍

It breaks my heart to write this post as I thought wee Mickey had years ahead of him when he first joined FYDO back in March 2019.
This gorgeous wee powerhouse absolutely loved his walks and would walk me off my feet 3/4 times a week. He'd be waiting at his door for me and would bark in excitement, or frustration if I dared spend too much time talking to his Mum 😀 Everyone who met Mickey on the Berwick walls would stop to admire him, chat to him, and marvel at how much like a puppy he looked ❤ He was like a train with his wee legs like pistons as he steamed along making the very most of his walk. In his last few months when he couldn't walk as fast, or as far, he loved stopping to sniff every blade of grass along the route...it seemed to bring him great pleasure.
Mickey had such a wonderful aura around him...not a bad bone in his body ❤ I can say without exception that he brought a smile to anyone he met. He loved meeting other dogs on our walks and would stop, lie down, and wait for them to greet him. If they passed him by without saying hello, he would look at me in confusion and disappointment. The dogs that did stop to greet him would be rewarded with loads of joyful tail wagging and kisses ❤
The funniest thing about Mickey was his "accounting of his biscuit treats". Before we went on our walks he would count the biscuits he had in his "stash". He would carefully put his nose on them all, as if marking/counting them. Satisfied that he knew how many he had and where they were, we could then leave on our walk. When we got back home, he'd run straight to his stash and do the same again, just to check that his Mum hadn't stolen any 😂
I loved Mickey like he was my own as we went spent so much time together, particularly the last few months when his health was failing. When Mickey was no longer able to enjoy his walks, I'd visit instead to spend time with him and his lovely Mum. He'd love getting all of the attention, walking between his Mum and I enjoying having us stroke his gorgeous wee face. He'd then empty his toy box looking for a toy that was to be his "favourite of the moment".

Mickey, you may have been tiny in stature, but, you were HUGE on character, but, in a gentle way....everything about you was beautiful and gentle ❤ I love and miss you so much. I'll never forget the wonderful times we had together and will forever be grateful to your wonderful Mum for allowing me to be part of your family, right up until the very end 🙏 You will always have such a special place in my heart ❤

It never ceases to amaze me how much personality and character can be packed into wee bodies such as the gorgeous Wilma and Cuthbert <3 What a joy and a privilege it was to spend time with them as their human slave :D

Hector has become a real water baby and dashes straight into the water the minute we reach the beach! :D It was a joy to see Hector, and all the other dogs, enjoying their early Sunday morning beach play <3 I love how excited and animated dogs get when they get on the beach...they're just like little kids...and Hector's no exception <3 :D He'd have happily stayed there all day...runnng into the water, chasing stones :D Once home, Hector lay on his garden bench and was out for the count within 5 minutes :D <3

Gorgeous Hector having the time of his life at the beach following his nice long walk with Simon and I <3 :D He loves nothing better than chasing massive stones into the water. Only problem is...he's not so good at bringing them back out, so, hubby goes the extra mile by rolling up his trousers and obliging :D We love being Hector's human slaves :D

Despite the extremely high winds, Scooby enjoyed tanking along at 100 miles per hour. He then had a fantastic time chasing the waves at Coldingham Beach [which we had to ourselves because of the weather :D ]. Scooby's a wonderful bundle of energy and certainly enjoyed his 1 on 1 time <3
