It's said that a picture paints a thousand words but perhaps not, in this case. I don't usually think of quarries as beautiful but seeing the sun dance across the ice today, with a clear sky and without a breath of wind, was fantastically serene. I don't think the Collies appreciated the view as much as I did ☀️❤️🐾🐶🐶🐾☀️❤️

A lovely couple recently lost Sadie, their Golden Retriever, just before her 15th birthday. They were absolutely devastated. I thought I'd have a go at making a memorial stone for them. It's a special and unique stone; a piece of Nephrite Jade which I found in a river while in New Zealand. I used several grades of wet and dry Silicon Carbide abrasive paper, followed by a Cerium Oxide solution, to polish it. I didn't want to make it too 'glassy' so as to retain the stone's character. With the help of my fabulous daughter, we used a Dremel to engrave Sadie's name. It took about 12 hours to complete. Although the letters could be a bit neater, I think it came out pretty well. After all, it's the thought that counts. RIP Sadie x ❤️🐾🐶❤️

Here are some photos of gentle giant Bobby; a 3 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback / Weimaraner cross, weighing in at 42kg. Although looking doleful in the photo, he is such a happy dog and so good on the lead. Unlike his loveable puppo sister Daphne, who is a 15 week old German Shorthaired Pointer. She has bundles of energy and only operates at full speed. She hasn't quite found the brakes yet. 💕🐶🐕‍🦺⏩💕

Back from 3 nights of dog sitting Coco, Durby (not Derby) and Billy. It's fair to say I am pretty shattered. As lovely as it sounds, 3 nights sleeping with 3 dogs cuddling up to you (and in some cases under the covers) is not overly conducive to quality sleep. Having said that, I wouldn't hesitate to sit them again. All little characters in their own right. No accidents, no injuries, no dramas. Just the way I like it. I mentioned that the owner elected not to allow social media usage (which I totally respect) so here's a library pic of Henry, our dearly departed Goldie 🐶💕🦴
