It's said that a picture paints a thousand words but perhaps not, in this case. I don't usually think of quarries as beautiful but seeing the sun dance across the ice today, with a clear sky and without a breath of wind, was fantastically serene. I don't think the Collies appreciated the view as much as I did β˜€οΈβ€οΈπŸΎπŸΆπŸΆπŸΎβ˜€οΈβ€οΈ

A lovely couple recently lost Sadie, their Golden Retriever, just before her 15th birthday. They were absolutely devastated. I thought I'd have a go at making a memorial stone for them. It's a special and unique stone; a piece of Nephrite Jade which I found in a river while in New Zealand. I used several grades of wet and dry Silicon Carbide abrasive paper, followed by a Cerium Oxide solution, to polish it. I didn't want to make it too 'glassy' so as to retain the stone's character. With the help of my fabulous daughter, we used a Dremel to engrave Sadie's name. It took about 12 hours to complete. Although the letters could be a bit neater, I think it came out pretty well. After all, it's the thought that counts. RIP Sadie x ❀️🐾🐢❀️
