🎊🎉Massive shout out to Mabel's owners for all their hard work!! 🎊🎉

This gorgeous girl was struggling with reactivity towards unfamiliar dogs.
She has done so well with her training that today we met up with one of her neighbours and his dog that she's struggled with in the past.

She absolutely smashed it and was able to walk calmly with her at a safe distance and showed some social curiosity towards her which was a huge step for Mabel 🥰

She's such a sweet girl and I'm so proud of her 🤩

Reactivity in dogs is often caused by a negative emotion.
The key to success is to take things slowly, build a new positive association and understand your dog's body language.

Cats V Dogs!!! 🐶🐱🐾🐾

I've always been a dog lover and cannot imagine my life without a dog, they're just brilliant! 🥰

Since bringing Buu and Chi Chi into our lives I am proud to say I am now a crazy dog and cat lady 😂
Even though they are different species their behaviour and needs are exactly the same:
🐾 Safe spaces to hang out
🐾Good food and fresh water daily (In Tank's case after every drink - the slobber chops 😅)
🐾Species specific enrichment. 🐶Dogs - sniffy things, chews and playtime 🐱Cats - chase games, scratching areas, boxes to jump in or any bag you want to use 🥴
🐾Secure bonds with their owners

I've seen a few clients recently that are struggling to find the right balance to teach their dogs and cats to cohabit stress free. We've looked at creating safe spaces, safe exit routes if needed and rewarding nice interactions. It's not easy but it's worth it in the end 🥰

It's been a busy week with training sessions and true to form I didn't get any pictures of the dogs 🤣 so here's my end of week treat. A closed laptop and glass of pinot 🥰

This week's training clients have done amazing! 🎊

🐾 Reactivity to triggers on walks

This is why I love my job no day is ever the same and I get to see so many different characters. Note to self "get pictures!!!!"

"Is your dog overexcited when visitors arrive? 🐕 Teach them to stay calm with this game:
🐾Put your dogs bed in a quiet spot with a chew or enrichment game (Kong, snuffle mat etc) before guests come in.
🐾Let your guest in.
🐾Slowly drop treats on your dogs bed between their paws to help them remain calm and relaxed around your guest.

Make recall training fun with games! 🐾 Try playing recall circuits or fetch to reinforce the recall cue.
