Happy Sunday from my Louis ❤️
Wow what a weekend! For those of you who knew I was in Luxembourg showing with the boys, it's been incredible! We are still traveling back but thought I'd update you all!
Elmo won his class both days (his first big boys class as he's now 18 months old) and Bertie was Best Male, Best Of Breed and Shortlisted to the final 6 both days!
This means that Bertie won his all important final qualifying CACIB that had to be won at least year and 1 day from his 1st CACIB.
He is now subject to FCI confirmation:
🏆 INTERNATIONAL 🏆
UK/IRISH/LUXEMBOURG/SWISS CHAMPION
Cyberus Its All About Bertie For Womlu
🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
I am so proud of the boys. They give me their all every time.
Bertie was shortlisted in the Vulnerable Breeds Competition Final from 31 breeds under highly respected all rounder Patsy Hollings and wonderful comments from Frank Kane about retaining size, substance, movement and athleticism and Bertie having it all. He stormed round that big ring and at the end of a long day I couldn't have asked for anymore from him. The crowd were so behind him, Bertrude you really are a very special boy 🥰
In breed Bertie won the Reserve Dog CC and Elmo was VHC. It's been a fabulous couple of days with our great friends ❤️
Some of you often ask me if the boys enjoy the showing. So I thought for a bit of light hearted Saturday entertainment I'd share a very happy Bertie in the ring ❤️
Crufts Working Group 2022
A day that dreams really are made of! Bertie and I not only won Best of Breed at Crufts 2022 we were then placed 4th in the Working Group out of 25 other breed winners. A Mastiff has never been placed in the group at Crufts. A truly amazing achievement that Team Womlu are so incredibly proud of ❣️
Amazing progress ⭐
Some days I love my job even more than others! This is never my best groom BUT this gorgeous girl had an awful experience at the vets having a cauterized toe nail and it made her extremely aggressive for grooming afterwards. Before lockdown last year I had started regaining her trust and we had made great progress then lockdown hit and all my hard work was undone, she was more aggressive than ever. During lockdown however I learnt some Tellington T-Touch and put this into practice and over the last year have regained her trust more and more. I still have to muzzle her for her front feet to be done but everything else is now done with no muzzle and a waggy tail. I know her warning signs with what is too much and when to give her a break and do something different that she is more comfortable with. I absolutely love her. Today she is awarded a gold star for progress ⭐
Canitab rinse results
This lovely Lhasa Apso has always had flakey black bits on his skin and was greasy to the touch. His last visit 6 weeks ago I used the Canitab Rinse treatment on him. Today not a flakey bit of greasy skin in sight! 😱
If you think your dog could benefit from this wonderful treatment you can add it to your groom for only £2.50
Dolly drying
Today Dolly came for her first bath and brush out session. For those of you who saw my post last week you'll know that Dolly has recently been rescued and when she arrived 2 weeks ago for her groom she was very unsure of me and the grooming parlour. I spoke with her owner and she had 3 free of charge meet me sessions to build her confidence.
Today she jumped out of her owners car tail wagging and ran straight to the gate of the holding pen so pleased to see me. As you can see her first grooming session went really well. Well done Dolly, I'm super proud of how far you've come in such a short time 🥰
Nail Trimming
Quick video just to show you how to trim your dog's nails. You may need someone to hold them still but 6 month old Zelda was an absolute star 🥰
When you book your own scruff ball Ninja in as you can't cope with the shaggy look anymore. Sweetpea is not a fan of grooming. She tolerates it as long as I give her biscuits and kisses throughout 😂I generally hand strip most of her coat out at home whilst we are having cuddles then finish her off at work 🥰
