I have the best customers in the world, it's a fact. Unfortunately due to being so ill I've had to cancel all appointments for this week and close early for the Christmas break.
I'd like to thank all those I've had to cancel for your support and understanding and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year hopefully with me fighting fit again.

So only one thing left to do and that's to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from myself, Louis (he's 5.5 months now!) Annie and Sweetpea.

No Shows and Late Cancellations

I have had an extremely tough time of late of multiple last minute cancellations (less than even a full 24 hours notice) and people just not turning up for appointments.
This has a massive impact on my income and to be honest I'm at a point where I financially can not continue to take that hit. If you have an appointment booked with me then please have respect for me as a small business owner who is trying to make ends meet just like everyone else.

My terms and conditions have always been 48 hours notice for cancellation. Going forward I am having to change this for a late cancellation of 50% of the groom is required for 48 hours notice and anything less than 24 hours notice is the full groom fee if I cannot fill the appointment at short notice.
Repeat offenders will be required to pay a non refundable booking fee of 50% of the groom in advance of their next appointment.

I understand that sometimes things are completely unavoidable and emergencys do happen and wherever possible I will waive any fee for this. If you simply just cannot afford your appointment (we all know times are hard) then please just give me time to try and offer it to someone else.

Wow what a weekend! For those of you who knew I was in Luxembourg showing with the boys, it's been incredible! We are still traveling back but thought I'd update you all!

Elmo won his class both days (his first big boys class as he's now 18 months old) and Bertie was Best Male, Best Of Breed and Shortlisted to the final 6 both days!

This means that Bertie won his all important final qualifying CACIB that had to be won at least year and 1 day from his 1st CACIB.

He is now subject to FCI confirmation:

It has come to my attention that the Litcham rumour mill is now in full swing!

I would just like my customers to know I am NOT closing the business. And although I may be moving in my personal life the business is definitely staying in Litcham and continuing business as usual.

I am so proud of the boys. They give me their all every time.
Bertie was shortlisted in the Vulnerable Breeds Competition Final from 31 breeds under highly respected all rounder Patsy Hollings and wonderful comments from Frank Kane about retaining size, substance, movement and athleticism and Bertie having it all. He stormed round that big ring and at the end of a long day I couldn't have asked for anymore from him. The crowd were so behind him, Bertrude you really are a very special boy 🥰
In breed Bertie won the Reserve Dog CC and Elmo was VHC. It's been a fabulous couple of days with our great friends ❤️

As many of you know I'm now off for Crufts. Bertie and I are not only showing in breed with Elmo but also representing the Mastiff in The Vulnerable Native Breeds Final. Vulnerable Native Breeds have less than 300 Kennel Club registrations a year and sadly Mastiffs only had 107 last year.
For those who asked about watching us the details are below and the final will be streamed live on the Crufts YouTube channel around 5.45pm on Friday.
Thanks to all of you who have wished us luck, we will do our very best and most importantly have fun doing it 🥰

I often get asked what is the best detangling spray for use in-between grooms. Well I'm pleased to announce I am now stocking a few of For All Dog Kind Detangle spray that I personally use on those slightly tangly coats.

If you would like to purchase I'm selling them at the retail price of £9.99 and you don't have to pay postage just collect when you bring your dog in. If they sell well then I will stock them more frequently.

A detangle spray can be great when used at home on your dogs long/fluffy coat and help you keep them knot free between grooms. Making grooming at home nicer for both you and your dog. 🐩

A polite reminder to everyone.
Please be mindful that late cancellations or just not turning up to your appointment has a massive impact on my weekly wage. This week alone I have had 5 either cancel late or just not turn up. Last week I had 2. I understand that times are hard for us all but please keep in mind that if I don't have enough notice I cannot offer that appointment to others and therefore lose out financially. I love my job but it is my income not a hobby.
And thanks to those of you who do turn up or give me the time to rebook your slots. I understand emergencies can happen but most of the reasons I have had in the last 10 days could have been cancelled sooner if people were mindful.

A LIFE SAVING TIP. Again I cannot take credit for discovering this. I always say I’ll teach you, but you know sometimes you teach me and one student from last nights course did exactly that.

Ocular compression, applying compression to the globe over closed eyelids stimulates the vagus nerve and can stop, slow, or prevent further seizures. I’ve been reading LOTS about it and I’m so pleased to have discovered this as it’s something you can do at home to help your dog.

This will not work for conditions that are not related to epilepsy such as seizures due to heat stroke or toxins.

Please share at this could make a huge difference to so many epileptic dogs.

Luxembourg you've been AMAZING!

I am so, so proud of Bertie and Elmo who are coming home Luxembourg Champion and Junior Luxembourg Champion respectively
🥳🏆🥳

The boys have showed their socks off for me this weekend, I'm exhausted after just one days showing the hall was so hot, so for them to be on form back to back days, well they are just awesome. I love them both.

It's been an incredible weekend with awesome friends, we've laughed and just had so much fun. It's what showing is all about. Doing something you love and enjoying every single minute of it.

Results as follows for both days:
Bertie
1st Open, graded Excellent, CACL, CACIB and Best Of Breed

Elmo
1st Junior, graded Excellent, Best Youth and gained the Luxembourg Junior Champion title

I love Elmo but Bertie really is such a special boy to me. Not only is he Current UK Top Mastiff, UK Champion, Irish Champion and Now Luxembourg Champion subject to FCL confirmation. We have achieved so much since last July. I couldn't love you anymore if I tried! I cannot thank Tracey and Steve enough for trusting me with both boys in the ring week in, week out. I absolutely love being the 3rd part of Team Womlu ❣️
