☀️🥵hot weather + flies🪰= sore eyes 👀 😢
We would definitely advise using a fly mask on your horses, ponies and donkeys in this weather to reduce exposure to dust and annoying flies 💩😩🪰
There are lots of different styles available, so if you keep finding your mask on the floor, maybe try one without ears, attach the mask to a forelock plait or use an old fashioned fly fringe.
Providing shade is also great to allow horses and ponies to find a bit of respite from the flies as they don’t like the dark!
We’ve seen some great sun shades recently made from dark tarpaulin! 🏖️
If you do feel the need to bathe the eyes then these sterile saline pods are safe BUT if the eyes are sore, swollen or discharging, please call us straight away to get the correct advice 🙏🙄
