One of the joys of being an equine vet is helping to create new life ❤️
We do a little happy dance (mostly out of view from clients!! 💃🤣) every time we see one of these little pregnancies!
It’s getting pretty late in the season now, but if anyone is thinking of breeding this year (or next) and would like to chat things through with Julie or Charlie, just give us a call or drop us a message x
🦟Aaahhh! The midges are back 😩🦟

Who knows the best product/tips to keep the little blighters at bay before Julie starts bingeing on garlic 🧄🤣
✏️🏠as we near our 6 month birthday 🥳 (how time flies when you are having fun!) We were wondering if anyone knows of any potential office space to let along the A30 corridor? Ideally Summercourt to Carland Cross but open to options. Just enough space for the 3 of us Duchy maids and some storage. Doesn’t need to be fancy as we haven’t got a huge budget. Any leads very gratefully received! Thank you 🙏
Is your horse trying to tell you something? 🧐
Is your horse trying to tell you something?🧐🧐
Because horses can’t talk, we have to read their body language for clues.
Signs can be really subtle, the odd buck, poor bend, ears back, tail swishing… maybe the horse doesn’t understand what you are asking, maybe they are tired, maybe they are stressed or they may be in pain.
It’s not always a serious problem, but it can be. We owe it to our horses to listen to these clues.
If you have any concerns, give us a call and we can help make a plan to get to the bottom of it and make sure your horse is happy & healthy ❤️🐎
Please 🙏💉❤️
Charlie & Julie are always very grateful when our patients have good manners but the gorgeous Teddy took it to a whole new level saying ‘please’ for his vaccination 😂🐎💉❤️
Cold weather zoomies ❄️🐎🙈
❄️❄️who has got snow??❄️☃️
Only a few flakes here but Julie’s horses have definitely got the cold weather zoomies! ❄️🤣🙈🐎
❄️🥶 encouraging water intake in cold weather 🥶❄️
Add some chopped up apples & carrots to some warm water and watch your horses enjoy!
In this chilly weather, horses, ponies & donkeys tend to drink less and can be prone to impaction colic. Why not take a flask of water to the yard with you to give them a treat in their feed or as a drink….🥰
Keep an eye on poo frequency and dryness and give us a call if you have any concerns 🐴🤗
