NOW THAT I'VE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH ALL MY CLIENTS I CAN PUBLICLY MAKE THE ANNOUNCEMENT: as of 24th December 2023, Wags Dog Grooming Salon will be closing the doors for good. This is a decision that I've toyed with for quite a while, being self employed is tough, and for a long time, I've felt the stress of running a business single-handedly for quite a while. My days of dog grooming have come to an end, and a change is what's needed. Please wish me well as I am very excited to be starting a new chapter from January of next year. I'm going to be working with a great bunch of people and looking forward to a new environment. I thank everyone who has ever graced the doors of my business, I've seen many a wagging tail over the years, some still with us, and many gone. Life always changes, and this time, it's my turn to make a change.

Alot of my customers ask me who my PT is . it's this man here ! Sam has gyms in Coleraine and Limavady, the Coleraine gym is one of our neighbours here at Loughanhill Industrial Estate.

Another huge week in HQ ...

HQ1 Limavady is almost complete again. It's looking good too. Last few tweaks this week and we're there.

Loving seeing the coaches busy in both gyms with clients smashing workouts and getting stronger every week. I'm seeing some people seriously develop their self confidence too ,, love that.

Private members are loving having the place to themselves for their own workouts.. it's become a bit of a sanctuary to many. Time away from the world.

What do I love most ???

The fact that most of our members and clients are people who ...

💪 Thought " the gym " just wasn't for them

💪 Assumed they wouldn't enjoy strength training

💪 Didn't realise the difference a PRIVATE GYM would make

💪 Now LOVE exercise

Update for customers - the road works are to continue until 10th November. It's an absolute disgrace that I had a customer have to cancel another appointment for himself today as he could not get any further than a few feet away from the salon in over half an hour. It seems it's easier to get into the industrial estate but slower getting out. The flow of traffic is non-existent. This work should be carried out through the night

FAO Wags customers. I'm just putting a post up here for those who are not on the Wags chat (thankfully, most of you are, and it's because of times like this that I created it).

I have been feeling unwell since the middle of last week, had a trip to a&e over the weekend, and was sent home with strong antibiotics and bloods taken. Unfortunately, the pain has not cleared up yet. So far, I've worked through it, but today, I've had to cancel appointments as the doctor wanted me back to take another lot of bloods. These are being tested as we speak, and I should hear back this afternoon. If I need to be in touch to cancel any appointments next week, I will do, for me it's easier if you are in the group chat so I can send out one message to reach you and keep you all updated rather than individually as I'm absolutely exhausted. Thanks for being so understanding 💕

With fireworks season approaching, and groomers seeing multiple dogs every single day, Brooks Braithwaite have put together a useful guide to share with your customers.
Print out this image and display it in your salon for visitors to see, so that they can help to keep their dogs as calm as possible while displays are on at the end of the month.

Its going to be a busy day today... setting up online booking (only available to current customers as books are closed ) I will keep you all posted once its live. This will be the new and preferred way for customers to book in giving you more flexibility and giving me more time to actually groom your dog !

Firstly, I would like to say a massive thank you to all those customers who have stepped foot over my door since this business began back in 2007. Also, thank you to everyone who recommends me as a dog groomer.

Unfortunately my books have been closed since 2020. I am also no longer able to work with dogs over a certain weight due to health reasons and doctors' advice. I will be scaling back my workload, meaning my books will not be opening again to new customers. I would like to concentrate on my current clients and give them the very best service that I can.

For younger pupils in particular, missing the bus home can be quite daunting, and the darker nights will be here in no time.

We would like to let all parents and children know we are a safe space. If your child misses the bus home, you are running late to collect them or if your child doesn't feel safe tell them to call in to Three Queens and they can wait here. If their phones are flat we can make a call to let you know where they are.. or charge their phone so they can get in touch.

As of September, all grooms will include an oral gel treatment FREE OF CHARGE. This is just a nice little add-on treatment to treat the bacteria in your dogs mouth on that day. It will not treat serious canine dental issues. You can opt out of this if you choose.

***This will only be given with your consent and to dogs that are accepting of it. This will not be given to snappers, dogs with current dental issues, and dogs that don't like being touched around face area. ***

Good afternoon - count down is on for summer holidays. Just a reminder to everyone that I am completely booked up until I go , and when I return I am fully booked until the last week I'm September. Next available space is 28th Sept. I do realise that alot of your dogs will be overdue. This cannot be avoided.

If any appointments become available they will be advertised in my Wags WhatsApp Group. The salon will be closed from 13th August for 2 weeks.

UPDATE ON BLUE-GREEN ALGAE ON BEACHES

Council has received confirmation that analysis of the water samples collected by DAERA for the presence of blue green algae has established that levels are well below the World Health Organisation (WHO) guideline level.

As a result, the decision has been made to remove the red flag status at Benone Strand, Castlerock Beach and Downhill Strand with immediate effect.

Wags have been asked to be a collection point for this very worthwhile cause

Over the next two weeks we will be collecting for the family of Chloe Mitchell.

As a group of women of all ages and many mothers among us we can't begin to imagine the suffering of Chloe's friends and family. If we can we would like to make a contribution to her funeral costs.
