Our newest piece of equipment has been busy busy busy since its arrival.

We are proud to continually reinvest in our services and are delighted with the addition of a state of the art videoscope to our clinic 🤩

🐾🩷Lucy the little cairn terrier managed to get a piece of bone completely wedged in her oesophagus. Check out her x-rays.

With the help of our latest piece of kit we were able to retrieve the offending bone without having to perform a more invasive surgery. Given its location and the fact it was well and truly stuck the procedure took plenty time and patience, but the end result was well worth all the effort.

Modelling a fabulous winter jumper at her 10 day post op check 🤩 Such a cutie 🥰
Frosty had cruciate surgery recently and just 10 days later she is using her leg like a trooper. Even within 1 hour post op she was sitting up in her kennel flashing a pose 😊🥰
Frosty you were great, keep up the good work 👌🐾

Milo 💙🐾💙
This little guy is most definitely unstoppable!💪

Milo arrived at the clinic very poorly and unable to stand. First line blood testing revealed an extremely low red blood cell count, with some investigations he was quickly diagnosed with immune mediated haemolytic anaemia. A condition that caused his own immune system to break down his precious red blood cells.

With rapid and aggressive treatment, part of which included blood transfusions(thanks again Zeus😉💙), Milo began to stabilise. With daily improvements he was able to return home a few days after his transfusion.

This was him at his recent check up feeling much more like his usual bright eyed self. We are delighted with his progress. Whilst treatment continues for the next 6 months we feel this little survivor has come through the worst of it.

We are so lucky when we get to meet so many of our patients at such a young age and watch them settle into their families.

Remus was kindly nominated by his owners to join our Blood Donor list. Just days after signing up the call for help went out, Remus and his family didn’t hesitate to respond💙

There are a few steps to the process
🩸comprehensive blood test before donation ✅
🩸light sedation and blood donation takes place ✅
🩸some intravenous fluids given to our donor ✅
🩸 a tasty meal before going home ✅

We are delighted to report the recipient, Zelda(bottom right) is doing just great.

Zeus you are a super ⭐️

Today we were completely bowled over by the number of offers of donor dogs to help our patient in need.
Zeus was the first to answer the call. He was amazing throughout his blood donation and here he is enjoying a very well deserved post donation meal.

Thank you all so much, most of all thank you Zeus and your Human 💜. You have given a little dog a fighting chance 💜💜

We are in need of a blood donor dog for a lifesaving transfusion for one of our poorly inpatients. We need the donation ASAP.If you’re willing to put your dog forward and he/she meets the criteria below then please call on 028 43729414 urgently.
❌Between 2 and 8years old
❌ Have a good temperament
❌ Never travelled outside the UK
❌ Over 25kg
❌ Fully vaccinated + wormed regularly
❌ Not had any recent operations
❌Females dogs that has never had pups
❌Not on any medication within the last 6 months
❌ Fit and healthy

It’s not always sunshine and puppies but today it most definitely was 🤩😍🐾
We had 10 of the most adorable 8wk old, Old English Sheepdog puppies in clinic this evening.
Our Vet Catherine and Student Vet Nurse Darcy were lucky enough to squeeze in some puppy cuddles between first vaccines 🥰🥰

Not everyone likes Fireworks 🐾🐶🐱🐰

It's that time of year again where the loud bangs and flashing lights can be very frightening to our pets. The firework season seems to last longer every year, and it can be very upsetting for us to see our pets getting distressed. The good news is there are lots of things that we can do to help ❤

🌟🐾🌟FINN🌟🐾🌟
This beautiful girl was unfortunately involved in a road accident a little over 2 wks ago.
She sustained irreparable injuries to her left eye, dislocation and fracture of her jaw and dental fractures.
Given her head and jaw injuries Finn was placed with a feeding tube to aid with her food intake during her recovery. She is now eating well enough that today we could remove her feeding tube.
We are just delighted to see totally smash her recovery.
