Not your average Thursday Evening!

We had a great time yesterday with the team from Wynnstay demonstrating an on farm post mortem to show what’s really going on beneath surface of the developing ruminant.

A big thank you to Wynnstay and Joel & Emma Redfern for having us, it was great to see so many people turn up and ask some excellent questions - despite the weather’s best attempt to rain us off!

Not your average farm vet job! Just over two weeks to go until applications close - thanks for all the interest so far!

We're on the hunt for our next vet to join the team!

At Horizon Dairy Vets we pride ourselves on Doing Dairy Differently. Since establishing the practice in 2017, we have prioritised enabling farmers to succeed through our focus on advice, and we now service a wide range of dairies across the West Midlands. Education is at the core of what we do, helping our farms drive their businesses forward and developing the farmers of the future. We also provide technical consultancy to several industry companies alongside involvement in undergraduate teaching and acting as a vet school clinical training partner. We do still know how to wield a scalpel blade or get covered in s**t but this is a way less significant part of our day!

We are looking for a colleague who shares our vision that there’s a better way to help farms than just treating the sick. We focus on planning and preventing rather than heroics. We need someone who wants to get stuck in and build relationships with progressive dairy farms, to help them achieve their goals while delivering value. There would also be opportunities to get involved in our global consultancy work, and the delivery of training to both farmers and students.

Looking after our team is very important to us, including a healthy work life balance. We believe we offer an excellent remuneration package (salary range £40,000-65,000) incorporating a 4.5 day week, and we are blessed with a very low volumes of OOH calls thanks to exceptionally capable clients. As a genuinely independent practice we also offer a transparent and fair path to business ownership for the right candidate.

It’s not just a tag line, we really do believe in doing dairy differently. If you’re ready to be part of a team that has done away with the traditional constraints of your average farm practice, we want to hear from you.
