‘DO I GET TO CHOOSE?’

I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while. When we are arranging viewings this is one of the first things people ask us. And I’ll be honest, not that many people get to ‘choose’. Or maybe the puppy chooses them. Or maybe you want a boy and there is only one. Or you want a black puppy and there is only one. Or maybe there is only one puppy. Or there was two and someone is visiting before you. There’s lots of scenarios here…

The purpose of the viewing is very much to meet us, meet Mum, see the puppies with their Mum. Ask and answer any questions.

I find it is something people get very hung up on and I don’t think it should be. When looking for a puppy myself, I find a breeder I’d really like a puppy from, I think about what is important to me and I would then be very happy with any puppy from a litter that matches what I am looking for (I can count on one hand how many times I got a choice as such)🐶❤️

If you come to meet a litter/puppy and actually you don’t think it‘s the right puppy for you, just say ‘no thanks’ - this is why we don’t take any money until this point.

This year we had a litter of eight, viewing day was interesting - no one could choose, we had tears, we had a collar mix up, it it was a lot 🫣😂 In the picture is Waffle, the last puppy to find his home from a litter of eight. Do you think his family was disappointed? Of course not!

You might not get a pick but you are still choosing if you want that puppy to be a part of your family. And I believe the right puppy always finds the right home at the right time 🏡💫

Good morning,

Our waiting list finally reopens today and ‘maternity leave’ is officially over 😄

Here is a sneak peak of what’s to come this year, I can’t cope !! 😍

We are also excited to announce that we will be introducing the Puppy Culture Programme to our cavapoo litters. This is a top tier socialisation and training plan and I can’t wait to see the outcome.

We will continue health testing our dogs to the highest standard and ensure we have the very best, true to type bloodlines.

Thank you for your patience and support, especially over the last two years, we’ve taken a step back to focus on our growing family 👶🏻👶🏻, but we’re back, and we are ready to make this our best year yet 🐶💫

The last two years have been very family focused for us but we are super excited to find the balance this year and ensure we are the very best breeders we can be.

• UPDATE - October ‘23 •

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend, I just wanted to give you all a little update.

Unfortunately we aren’t expecting anymore puppies this year, we are still here, we are still ‘breeding’ (or intending too) - we’re just a little quiet online.

I’m still not sure how this will look in terms of planned litters and waiting lists… BUT I’ll be back to update you on this, introduce you to our new Mums, their health tests, our new socialisation plan etc etc. after Christmas. Exciting! 💫

We always planned to have a quiet 2023 (in terms of puppies anyway 👶🏻👦🏡), but we are getting ready for a bigger and better 2024. Thanks for your support and patience as always.

Sorry for being super quiet on here recently, we’ve been busy baby prepping and with no puppies we haven’t had much to share (obviously our adult dogs have been keeping us busy as always) 🥰

I’m going to catch up with any existing messages today, put our out of office on and log off for a while. Baby boy no2 is due any day now - ahhh! Thank you for all your well wishes, I’ll keep you posted 👶🏻💙

This is a really important study being carried out by the RVC into some of the UK’s most popular puppies - certain breeds and cross breeds have surged in popularity over the last few years, however little research into ownership experiences has been undertaken. *WAITING LIST/2023 UPDATE*

I hope you all had a lovely weekend,and your pooches weren’t too distressed 🎆

We are getting to the time of year that we usually start thinking about waiting lists and the upcoming year and it’s planned litters.

I think 2023 is going to be a quieter year for us on the henleypoos/puppy front. With baby no.2 joining us in the spring I think we’re going to need to find our feet with two under two and take some proper time out (apparently it’s called maternity leave for most people 🙊).

So with this in mind there will NOT be a waiting list for puppies in 2023, any litters we do have we will share on our social media pages and you can contact us/apply at the time if they are of interest. We did this with our last maltipoo litter and it actually worked very well.
