🌟 update now rehomed 🌟

Everyone meet the beautiful bronte. She's a 15 mth old terrier cross collie. She has the cutest wee face with her big ears 🥰🥰
Shes adorable and just needs to be shown love. She would appear to have had a traumatic start as she is quite nervous and timid so will need someone who can give her patience and help build her confidence. She would be ok with another dog following a successful meet and greet. If you can give this beautiful girl a furever home please message 🐾

Walking a dog on icy roads can be risky. It's important to prioritize safety for both you and the dog. Use non-slip boots for the dog, be cautious, and consider shorter walks to minimize exposure to Icy conditions. ice can affect a dog's paws. Cold surfaces can cause discomfort, and ice may lead to injuries like cuts or abrasions. Additionally, road salt and chemicals used to melt ice can be harsh on a dog's paws. It's advisable to protect your dog's paws with booties or paw wax in icy conditions.

Don't know what to get your pup for Christmas, what about snuffle mats, in Large, medium, and small, they are so good for your dogs and they enable your dog to forage even when its raining, it slows down their eating, keeps them busy and entertains their brain, giving them a lift of serotonin every time they sniff and then find the food, win win, I make them hard wearing with thick rubber underneath, and can be placed in the washing machine to clean.
Large £45
Medium £35
Small £25

Pawsitive Effects: How Having a Pet Can Improve Your Mental

Pets have a unique way of enriching our lives. They offer companionship, loyalty, and unconditional love, but their impact on our well-being goes beyond the surface. Research and countless anecdotal stories show that having a pet can significantly benefit your mental health. In this blog, we'll explore the various ways in which furry friends can positively influence your emotional and psychological well-being.

1. Reducing Stress and Anxiety

Life's demands can often lead to stress and anxiety. Studies have shown that spending time with pets, particularly dogs and cats, can trigger a release of oxytocin, the "feel-good" hormone, which can help reduce stress and anxiety levels. Simply petting or playing with your pet can have a calming effect on your nervous system.

2. Providing Unconditional Love and Companionship

Pets offer a unique form of companionship that is free of judgment and conditions. They are always there for you, ready to provide affection and a listening ear (or a furry shoulder to lean on). This constant presence can alleviate feelings of loneliness and improve your overall mood.

3. Increasing Physical Activity

Taking care of a pet often involves regular exercise, such as daily walks with dogs or interactive play sessions with cats. This increased physical activity not only benefits your pet but also contributes to your own well-being by promoting better physical health and releasing endorphins that boost your mood.

4. Creating Routine and Structure

Pets require a consistent routine, which can be beneficial for your mental health. Having a structured daily schedule can provide a sense of purpose and organization, helping you to better manage your time and reduce feelings of chaos or uncertainty.

5. Fostering Social Connections

Pets can be excellent conversation starters and a way to connect with other pet owners. Engaging in pet-related activities, like visiting dog parks or attending pet training classes, can lead to social interactions that help combat feelings of isolation and build a support network.

6. Boosting Self-Esteem and Confidence

Caring for a pet and witnessing their growth and well-being can boost your self-esteem and confidence. Knowing that you are responsible for another living being's happiness and welfare can be incredibly rewarding and fulfilling.

7. Providing Emotional Support

Pets have an uncanny ability to sense when their owners are feeling down or anxious. They offer emotional support by offering cuddles, nuzzles, and a comforting presence during difficult times.

8. Offering a Sense of Purpose

Having a pet gives you a sense of purpose and responsibility. This can be particularly meaningful for individuals who may be going through challenging life transitions or experiencing feelings of emptiness.

Conclusion

The bond between humans and their pets is a special one that extends far beyond the surface. Beyond being cute and cuddly, pets can play a vital role in improving your mental health. Their presence, companionship, and the love they offer can provide a profound source of comfort, happiness, and emotional support. So, whether you have a loyal dog, a curious cat, or a friendly hamster, cherish the pawsitive effects they bring into your life.

If your dog is freaking out with fireworks going off, pick up their favourite thing to do, Jessie's is the ball, and while the fireworks are going off, with the TV up loud, I have been throwing the ball down the hall, and playing tuggy, instead of her listening out for every bang, she is focusing on bringing the ball back.
