We would like to thank everyone for all donations received to date. Unfortunately there was an issue with the go fund me link for 2 weeks whereby we could not receive donations. BVC Farm Vets would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to support our Charity run/walk on Sunday 7th July for Ina and Air Ambulance NI. 🥰
We were overwhelmed by the attendance and to top it off, Ina and her family dropped by to say hello!😄 It was brilliant to see her and we are really looking forward to welcoming her back to work in our Tamnamore branch in an advisory role.
On Sunday alone, we raised a massive £6,300 and we are continuing to collect in-practice and on our Go Fund Me page until 31st July 2024.
Thank you all very much, we are so appreciative to everyone who donated refreshments, financially donated and especially those of you who took the time to travel to Knockmany and support us on Sunday - it was a lovely day.🥰

Clogher Valley Show 2024🚜🌾🐑🐄

Yesterday, we attended the annual Clogher Valley Show along with our sister practice Three Valleys Farm Animal Vets!

Thank you to everyone who called over to our stand to keep us in craic and keep us busy making tea☕️ A great day was had by all, made even better with the fabulous weather!☀️

Update on Blowfly Risk‼️

⚠️🪰 ⚠️ 𝗕𝗟𝗢𝗪𝗙𝗟𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗞𝗘 ⚠️🪰⚠️

The risk remains high across the UK, and the increasing temperatures this week and continued rainfall make very favourable conditions for blow fly egg development

Development into maggots and skin damage will occur quickly, so be vigilant.

Today marks 2 weeks since we hosted our charity fundraiser for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland and Ina's rehabilitation.

We will be attending the annual Clogher Valley Show this year along with our sister practice Three Valleys Farm Animal Vets on 31st July. Great write up in the Farmers Journal about lungworm⬇️

Warmer temperatures will see worm burdens rapidly increasing on grazing swards, putting young cattle at higher risk of respiratory problems caused by lungworm.

Earlier this year, our vet Ina was involved in a farm accident at her home which left her paralysed from the waist down. She is currently working on her rehabilitation process in Musgrave Park Hospital.

On Sunday 7th July, we are hosting a charity run/walk to raise much needed funds for Ina's rehabilitation which will help her adapt to the changes the accident will bring to her everyday life. The proceeds will be equally divided between this and Air Ambulance NI who were in attendance the day of Ina's accident.

We would love for you to join us at 3pm in Knockmany Forest Park (main car park) however, if you aren't able to join us on the day, you can still donate; drop into the practice or give us a call on 028 8556 7150 for more information.
