Thank you so much for your lovely pressies and cards- we love them!

(And don’t worry, there’s no way we’re letting Patch get his paws on any of these 😉- he got rewarded with his favourite dried sprats for being such a patient model, and the chocs are now safely out of his reach😀🐾)

❤️Here’s the gorgeous Bruce! 🐾

We love puppy visits so much.

Obviously because we get to cuddle puppies 😀

And more importantly, because there’s always so much to talk about- and we have the time to do just that-

🐾Check that they’re healthy

🐾Talk about lots of ways to keep them safe, healthy and happy

🐾And no, at Pets Relaxed that does not include putting them on year round flea and tick treatments (unless that’s what they needed of course, but we’ve yet to meet a puppy that does)

🐾Answer all your questions- usually there are loads, and we love that. No question is too silly, and we never rush.

Can’t wait to see how much Bruce has grown when I see him for his second vaccination soon ❤️

❤️Meet the amazing Tilly!🐾

When we first met her, just two weeks ago, she would sleep til 11am, not want to eat until dinner time, and she completely refused to go for any walks.

On top of that, she had recently injured one of her legs, and she could cope even less.

She was on good pain relief from her vet clinic, and is getting great care from her family at home, but she clearly needed more help.

⚡️We started Tilly on a combination of laser therapy and acupuncture, and she is doing incredibly!

🐕She goes for good walks every day, she gets up early with her dad, and she’s always ready for her breakfast!🐶

❤️What a transformation!!

🌟We can’t wait to continue to support Tilly - such a superstar! 🌟

🎆3 Last Minute Fireworks Tips 🎇

1. Draw the curtains and put some pet friendly music on (classic FM or Spotify are helpful). Now that it’s dark, stay inside- these bangs come so suddenly and like gun shots- it’s not worth going out, even for a quick wee. Lock or block your cat flap (making sure your cats are inside first, obviously)

2. If you have any good quality, calming essential oils, diffuse them (always make sure your pets can leave them room if they prefer). I love lavender, vetiver and frankincense.

3. Calm. We have a way of telling our fearful pets to calm down, in a stressed voice. That doesn’t work. We need to model being calm and relaxed. Take some deep breaths to ground yourself. Then talk to them calmly. Maybe tell them a story. Slow, gentle, calming strokes too.

🌿Wishing you a peaceful fireworks time 🌿

❤️We start tonight! Don't miss out!

🐾There’s still time to join ‘Healthy Thriving Pets'🐾

This is what it’s all about:

🥩Good food: what is a good food?, how can I find one?, it’s all so confusing!

💉Smart vaccinations and parasite treatments: STOP overdoing it, but also, do enough

🏃‍♀️Healthy vs unhealthy exercise

💭Mental health: we just don’t talk about this, that needs to change!

🦷Dental Health: so often ignored, so often feared- yet so important for every aspect of health, not just the mouth

🌿How to deal with small ailments yourself, using simple yet very effective kitchen remedies

We’ll talk about all the above in my online course ‘Healthy Thriving Pets’, which starts tonight!

Don’t worry if you can’t make it live, there are replays and downloads, so you can do it all in your own time.

Imagine feeling confident and empowered to advocate for your pet's well-being, knowing you're providing the best possible support.

🎆How are you all coping with the fireworks?🎇

We’re very lucky here in that

😊We don’t have many, and

😅Patch and Filou aren’t that bothered

Lots of pets really struggle this time if the year though.

Plenty of great advice out there in how to keep them safe and calm (if you’re not sure, check out RSPCA and Blue Cross websites).

And here is what I’ll add, which is often overlooked:

Find ways to calm your own nerves

Easier said than done, I know.

And yet, you need to lead by example and model for your pets that it’s safe to be calm.

If you’re stressed, they’ll be more stressed, and so it goes round and round in a vicious circle.

Time to break that!

Here are some of my favourite tips:

🌺Diffuse calming essential oils (use high quality oils to ensure they’re safe). Lavender and Vetiver are wonderful, as are many others.

🎼Calming music (I love Theta frequency music, it’s grounding the nervous system on a really deep level. You can easily find it on places like Spotify)

🧘‍♀️Deep and grounding breaths. Here’s a very simple yet highly calming way: Both feet on the floor. Eyes closed. Breathing in for 4, hold for 4, breathe out for 4 and hold for four. Repeat as often as needed.

And then once I’m relaxed, I like to just calmly talk to my pets and tell them that the noises and lights are perfectly fine and safe.

Of course that’s nowhere near enough for many anxious pets, and I’m sure you all have lots of tricks up your sleeve to help them cope with this time. If you don’t- speak to us, we can help!

But do remember that you need to lead, and the more relaxed you are, the more your pets can relax too.

Wishing you a peaceful fireworks season!

🌺P.S: Don’t forget ‘Healthy Thriving Pets’, my fabulous live online course starts tomorrow🌿

We’ll talk about so many things, and mental health and relaxation is one of them. Including a lovely heart centred meditation for you and your pets ❤️

🎃What are you all doing with your Halloween pumpkins, now that ‘the day’ is over?

Just throwing them away seems much too wasteful.

🦔I used to put mine out for the wildlife- until I found out that pumpkins can actually harm them. Hedgehogs and other wildlife can get diarrhoea from them, which can get dangerous.

Here are two ideas:

1. Hang your pumpkin out in the garden for the birds 🦅

2. 🐕Make a tasty and nutritious treat for your dogs and cats 🐈 It’s super easy:

Wash and roughly chop your pumpkin (leave the skin on).
Bake til soft, allow to cool and scrape the flesh off the skins.

Voilà!

💩Did you know that pumpkin can help with both constipation and diarrhoea?

Always good to have some to hand.

We’ll talk about easy first aid tips, food and much more in my upcoming online course ‘Healthy Thriving Pets’, starting on Tuesday.

It’s National Cook for your Pets Day!

I’ll be honest, I don’t cook for my pets, but I always share some of our food with them.

We had fish and veg tonight as a family. Patch got a little bit of everything, Filou got some fish and prawns

Here’s Patch’s bowl (he had this after his ‘normal’ food, kind of like a dessert)

Little bits of sea bass, prawns, sweet potato, spinach, tomato, mushroom and red pepper.

He wasn’t too keen on the spinach, but loved everything else.

Some extra nutrients AND some fun for him.

Win- win ❤️🐾

We’ll talk about feeding our cats and dogs in the online course ‘Healthy Thriving Pets’, starting next week.

We are firmly in the hands of the Pharma industry, and also the gadget and the supplement industry.

We’re feeding highly processed foods, giving unnecessary medications and supplements, engaging in unhealthy exercise, are not taking dental health seriously, and many of us feel completely helpless when our beloved pets show any signs of ailments.

How did we get here?

🌻I’m determined to change this!

We’ll talk about all the above in my online course ‘Healthy Thriving Pets’, which starts next week.

🐾Guv has been having a number of health issues and his mum wanted help to look ok after him in more natural ways.🌿

❤️My favourite kind of consult!

This approach needs time: time to listen and to ask lots of questions, and also to take note of the home set up and how that might impact good health.

We always book longer appointments for these thorough assessments, so that there’s no rush.

We’ve looked at Guv’s diet, reviewed his supplements and are making some changes to his home set up.

🌿Can’t wait to watch this guy thrive! 🌿
