Adorable Kermit
2.12.19 - 17.1.25

A gentle soul, everyone who met him loved Kermit so dearly.

From the day that he came into our care, we all knew he was going to be a special boy.

Kermit was known by his nickname as ‘Velcro’ as he would stick to you like glue, wherever you went, he was sure to be by your side. This boy would fall asleep standing up, just so he could be close to you.

This lad loved his food but unfortunately it didn’t always love him and often gave him a bad tummy.

After many tests and scans it was discovered he had IDS, medicine was started but still he lost a lot of weight. In the last month alone he lost 2kg.

Late last week we discovered he had an inoperable tumour in the lining of his stomach wall. No treatment was going to remove or stop this tumour from growing.

Kermit had so much love to give and was a real favourite among the volunteers.

This little boy laid in my lap and was cuddled until the very end.

Rest in peace Kermit, we all love you and you will be missed dearly.

Holiday News!
Recently Kermit was lucky enough to go on a little holiday to the Isle of Wight.

He had a good time and was very well behaved.

Kermit was also lucky enough to go and see the donkeys at The Donkey Sanctuary.

He loved the beach and enjoyed walks on them.

Kermit you really did the breed proud! Well done boy.

Happy New Year Everyone!

2024 was an amazing year for us, it was filled with homings and action packed events.

During the year we rehomed 54 greyhounds, including our long stayers - Milton and Giant; who are now living life to the full!

We held and were part of 35 events ranging from small fairs to our own summer fair and ‘The Big Walk’.

Our volunteers took on the challenge of walking 40 miles to raise funds for our paddock fund. The whole team worked hard to achieve the end goal. They raised £4,189.32, AMAZING!

We have had our sad times too including the loss of Yoyo our ‘special’ lad that so many of us loved, like he was our own. The team pulled through this time together by supporting each other.

Thank you to all our volunteers and supporters, none of 2024 would have been possible without your dedicated work. We are so lucky to have an ever growing team full of like minded people.

We all have the same passion and greyhounds are a huge part of our hearts.

The team are looking forward to 2025 and all the exciting times ahead.

Bring on 2025 and let’s find loving homes for more greyhounds.

Christmas News!

All the greyhounds in our care have loved their Christmas time!

From greyhound party’s to enjoying their Christmas dinner all our kennel greyhounds have now tired themselves out!

Crimbo was the best kennel greyhound at unwrapping the presents, I think he helped all the others too!

They loved their walk on Boxing Day at Sandbanks, lots to see and so many people to get extra cuddles from!

We had a lovely morning in Farnborough a week ago. The team were out collecting, with of course their lovely Christmassy greyhounds!

The team raised a huge £565.05 which is amazing for just a few hours!

In Fleet that day we held our usual nail cutting session and we had a few Christmas goodies on sale too for the doggies.

We raised a fantastic amount £915.95, this includes the amount the team raised in Farnborough too.

Thank you Farnborough and Fleet people we are so grateful to you all.

This bed has never been used and all money raised will go directly to our greyhounds.

Our Greyhound Christmas Party is this Friday at Parklife Cafe in the Community Room. It starts at 10am until 12pm.

All greyhounds are welcome. Come and join in the Christmas fun!

This event is for greyhounds only no other breed please.

Huge thank you to our fantastic volunteers!

As some of you are aware five weeks ago our greyhound wagon was driven into by another vehicle, which left us with a ‘beyond repair’ vehicle.

For the last five weeks we have relied on volunteers to transport our greyhounds to the vets, we’ve have had two hire vehicles; with only one allowing the dogs inside and still events to attend, including our very own Christmas Fair.

Juggling events, day to day life at the kennels, community work etc to go and view suitable vehicles, many miles away.

Life hasn’t been that easy but still we have carried on, like nothing has happened!

Yesterday we drove our new greyhound wagon home but it was far from ready to use. Seats needed removing, guards put in and flooring laid.

Our very own Ben (volunteer) came to the rescue yesterday, the seats were whipped out! Bulk head guard fitted and new flooring laid all so our greyhounds could start using the van the very next day!

Our volunteers are fantastic and times like this we all pull together to achieve great things for our fur babies!
