Keeping your communication simple is one of the most important things in dog training.. Here is my 5 word communication system, explained in under a minute.. we as humans tend to over communicate and inevitably over complicate out inter-species communication with our dogs.. #dogtraining #dogtrainer #trainyourdog #dog #puppytraining #simpledogtraining #dogbehavior #manchester #lancashire #yorkshire #leeds #burnley #bolton #bury #salford
5k with Bear, slow and steady, just keeping him moving.. he’s a bit weary of approaching people and traffic so I’m just giving him something to think about with the jogging.. loose lead is coming together nicely
This dog pulled so badly his owner Shannon didn’t want to walk him, taking him out gave her Anxiety 😟 .. after just one session this is what we achieved.. (before anyone goes crazy, he came with the slip collar, and I didn’t have a flat big enough for his huge neck) #rottweiler #dogtraining #dogtrainer #reactivedog #looseleadwalking #bigdog #manchester #yorkshire #cheshire #merseyside #lancashire #whottainsyourdog #dogtrainingisfun
When Bear arrived first he went on hunger strike, he had a low food drive anyway and wasn’t into the idea of working for food.. now look at him, he loves working for food and we have built a nice level of trust.. just starting the 3rd week and I think now we can really start to do some work… #residentialdogtraining #dogtraining #bigdogtraining #canecorso #workingdog #mastiff #italianmastiff #dogtrainer #Manchester #uk #yorkshire #boardandtrain #leeds #keighley

1. Bribing: (not recommended) 👎
• Intent: Involves offering treats or rewards upfront to get a dog to comply with a command.
• Purpose: Often used to manipulate behavior but can lead to dependency on treats rather than genuine learning.
• Context: Offering food or toys before the behavior is performed can be seen as a bribe in dog training.
2. Luring: 👍
• Intent: Uses treats or toys to guide a dog into desired positions or actions.
• Purpose: Aids in teaching and encouraging specific behaviors or commands.
• Context: Temporarily used as a guide; the aim is to fade out the lure gradually as the dog learns the behavior.
3. Treating: 👍👎 (not helpful for learning)
• Intent: Giving treats or rewards voluntarily without expecting an action in return.
• Purpose: Expresses appreciation, love, or simply to make the dog feel special.
• Context: Given out of affection and care, without linking it to a specific command or behavior.
This does not help build behaviour and can often have adverse effects..
4. Rewarding:👍❤️
• Intent: Acknowledgment for exhibiting desired behaviors.
• Purpose: Reinforces behaviour and strengthens the desire to learn.
• Context: Given after the dog performs the desired action, reinforcing the behavior and encouraging its repetition.
In dog training, understanding the differences between these methods helps in employing the most effective approach to encourage learning and building better behaviour🐕❤️

Obedience round … prior to coming on the field was her first time hearing gun shots, it spooked her a bit she was very sensitive after that… and the stewards voice drew her attention away from the heelwork…lots to work on… feeling motivated🐕❤️
Full PDC protection routine.. if anything yesterday made we want to take this more seriously. I train this dog about 10-20 mins per week and she’s only really bitten me in the bitesuit..
Some people are dead against playing tug or encouraging any type of biting behaviour with their dog… problem is dogs DO bite, they bite to pick up their pups, they bite to play, they bite to hunt, they bite to defend themselves, they bite to communicate!! A dog that is scared to use its mouth is a sad sight to see.. through the medium of playing tug we can teach a dog not to bite skin, not to bite clothing, not to bite unless asked too and most importantly to let go instantly when asked… Here my clients Malinois Annie demonstrates a lighting fast “OUT” well done Malc and Annie ❤️🐕 a few weekday sessions available in December.. Marnie is reactive, was choking herself on the lead, pulling in all directions, dragging the handler wherever ever she wanted to go, circling round and round, lunging and jerking.. she’s in for a weeks board and train… to work on:
Loose lead walking…
Impulse control…
Recall…
And I also taught her to “out” too
this is us on day 4 ❤️🐕
