Lovely day yesterday treating some gorgeous horses including my monthly visit to see the wonderful Cruise. It is so amazing being part of his journey, watching him develop into such an incredibly beautiful horse. I love treating him and helping him to release what he needs to, so he can continue to improve with the guidance of his owner and rider Laura Keam , and feel great in himself. He sure looks great too!
If you would like to book your horse in for treatment with me, please send me a message. I'm taking bookings now for the new year and also have gift vouchers available for anyone looking for present ideas.
Wishing you all a very Happy Easter!
Wishing you all a fantastic and exciting 2023!!! I hope the New Year brings you everything you wish for 💗🥂🍾🥳I

Kicking up their heels and enjoying the sunshine 🌞 can't quite believe its nearly the end of November!!!
Lovely trip to Treleife Equestrian this morning before it got too hot.
So today Ronnie proves that even stallions can multitask! by eating whilst showing you a shoulder stretch, specifically stretching the Triceps and then the latissimus dorsi.
As always, only stretch you horse when their muscles are warm ie after exercise or a day moving in the field, and never push you horse to stretch further or hokd it for longer than they are capable of.
First, postion yourself beside your horses shoulder facing their hind quarters with your legs a stride, one infront of the other.
Lift up your horses front leg as if you were going to pick out their hoof.
Before we stretch the muscles of the shoulder we need to warm up the joints of the forelimb by moving the leg in a circular action, rotating each of the joints both clockwise and then anti-clockwise.
This can give you a good indication of amy stiffness and tightness in the joints.
To start the tricep stretch hold you horses leg supporting the fetlock and pastern in your outside hand and place your inside hand in behind your horses elbow.
Slowly and gently shift your weight backwards bringing your horses fore leg forward with you.
Hold the stretch for 10 to 15 seconds. You can then either decide to continue straight into the next stretch if your horse is happy and comfortable to do it, or release your horses leg from the stretch by shifting your weight forward and taking your horses leg back to a relaxed position and lowering you horses hoof back to the ground.
To continue into the extended stretch, stretching both the triceps and the latissimus dorsi, use your outside to extend your horses lower forlimb forward, releasing your insode hand from your horses elbow and placing it under your horses fetlock.
As you do this you will need to take a step or 2 back and then resume the position with you legs astride on infront of the other.
With big horses or horses that lean on you i rest my own elbows on my knees and thigh to support the weight and protect my own back.
Hold the stretch for 10
So over the next weeks and probably months i will be posting things you can do with your horse, and to help improve the wellbeing of your horse.
Today Ronnie and I give you - The Hug Stretch
Position yourself infront of your horse with your legs astride, one infront of the other.
Put your horses chin on your shoulder and place one or both hands (one over the top of the other) on the horses poll. I put one hand on the poll and one on their cheek as i find it easier with a bigger horse and it also stops you pulling the horses head down.
Slowly shift your weight backwards onto your back leg whilst guiding you horses head down and out with you.
This helps to open up the underside of your horses jaw into the neck, and stretch the muscles of the neck into the chest and back.
Hold this stretch for 10 to 15 seconds, or longer if your horse wants to (i have had horses fall asleep on me before!).
Then to release your horse from the stretch bring your weight forwards so you are standing up straight, remove your hands, and gently lift your horses head off of your shoulder of they havent removed ot themselves.
This really helps horses who are or get tight in their jaw, poll, neck, chest, shoulders and back.
Always stretch horses when their muscles are warm ie after exercise or after a day mooching in the sunshine in the field.
Be aware some horses struggle with this so always do this within you horses capabilities, listen to your horse and never force a stretch or hold it for longer than your horse is able to.
Some horses wont be able to stretch as much as Ronnie in the video, some will stretch alot more. Your horse my stretch lots one day and then not want to the next day. Your horses may judder through their head and neck as they stretch and release tension like Ronnie did in this video.
Regular stretching will massively improve your horses wellbeing and performance.
Have Fun and post pics of your horse having a Hug Stretch in the comments below, id love to se
Lovely moments today watching this gorgeous horse absorb and process the treatment I was giving her. They really do benefit so much from treatments and they are always so grateful for it 💗
