Processing and releasing
I wanted to show you a few videos of this lovely horse, who I sponsor, and who I treated yesterday. In these videos he shows how horses can process and release during and after treatment and what this might look like .
In the videos where he is yawning, licking and chewing, lowering his head, doing big sighs and big heavy blinking; these are all signs of physical neurological and musculoskeletal releases. These releases show the horse letting go of tension, the body adjusting and resetting old patterns as healing transforms the body and aims to return it back to a state of balance. As the horses body releases, it is simultaneously processing the changes too
In the second video, in the comments, you can see him dozing in an almost trance-like state where he is fully relaxed with a lowered head, slow steady calm breaths, a relaxed bottom lip and jaw, big heavy blinking and closing the eyes at times. This is a great example of the horse processing as they appear to zone out from the world around them and go inward into themselves, embracing the healing the body is undergoing. Horses live in the moment which is why I believe they respond so well to treatment. As they process their body is filtering through all the information it is received through the treatment given and is working hard to understand that information and respond accordingly.
The last video in the comments where he has no head collar on showcases how the horse continues to process and release after the treatment has finished. This is why you should always give you horse a minimum of 24hrs off of any work after treatment to allow them to fully release, heal and adjust to their new state of being.
