Hello September 🧡🍂

As we enter September, the horses coats are beginning to change and the blackberries are coming out in the hedges. The summer competition season is coming into its final stages and the winter competition series are soon to start.

Now is the time to make sure your horses are comfortable in their bodies and feeling well in themselves. Treatment can relieve any tension and discomfort they may have that could be restricting their movement, limiting their performance and causing behavioural issues. End the summer in style and head into the months knowing your horse is ready to go.

I offer Equine Treatments that are based on my skills as a qualified Equine Bowen therapist, incorporate stretching exercises and advise you on ways you can further help your horse post treatment.

I have a few appointments still available in September and I'm taking bookings for October, November and December.
Send me a message to book in or call/WhatsApp message me on 07825180980.
(Please note that my work email, [email protected] , via my website is currently not in use)

I also completed my course and qualified in Equine Energy Healing and Communication earlier this year and now feel ready to offer Equine Healing sessions and Distance Healing readings too. If you would like more information or to book in please send me a message and I will get back to you.

I received this lovely message last week from a new client.

'Just wanted to say your reports are the best I’ve ever received!! And both horses have seen many people on my travels. So so helpful 😍'

It's so lovely to get such nice feedback but also recognition of the reports I write. I find doing reports for each treatment with a horse so important as it's a way of tracking their progress, but also it gives a visual record for the owners to see and refer back to so they can continue helping their horses between treatments and improve their overall well-being.

My diary is open for September, October and November so if you'd like to book your horse in for treatment send me a message.

So interesting

There are many debates about fascia—what it is, what it includes, and what its function truly is. Many definitions are used to describe and categorise this tissue, which I believe is impossible. It is a continuous tissue that is everywhere and manifests in many forms, from loose areolar tissue to highly organised tendons; from continuous tissue that connects parts, allows for force transmission, to areas where it disconnects and allows gliding and sliding.
The picture shows what I observe during my equine dissections.
I see the fibrillary network, filmed by J. C. Guimberteau.
And I see the ‘matrix’ described, I believe, by Stephen Lewin – “Fascia is the fabric of the body; not the vestments covering the corpus but material that gives it the form: the warp and the weft. Muscles and bone, liver, lung, gut, urinary, brain and endocrine are all embroidered in the fascial web.

The 2025 Fascial Congress will start in a few days. Will it bring clarification or more confusion?

We all LOVE our jobs with horses and want to do our best for them. We are all aware of the risks and know that accidents happen, so I ask all horse owners to always be honest about your horse and make sure the environment you provide is safe. Disclose any and all relevant information about their past or current behaviour/likes and dislikes/trauma/accidents that might affect us working with them; there is no such thing as too much information. Help us to help them and allow us to do that as effectively as we can.
Thank you from all horse professionals everywhere.

Processing and releasing

I wanted to show you a few videos of this lovely horse, who I sponsor, and who I treated yesterday. In these videos he shows how horses can process and release during and after treatment and what this might look like .

In the videos where he is yawning, licking and chewing, lowering his head, doing big sighs and big heavy blinking; these are all signs of physical neurological and musculoskeletal releases. These releases show the horse letting go of tension, the body adjusting and resetting old patterns as healing transforms the body and aims to return it back to a state of balance. As the horses body releases, it is simultaneously processing the changes too
In the second video, in the comments, you can see him dozing in an almost trance-like state where he is fully relaxed with a lowered head, slow steady calm breaths, a relaxed bottom lip and jaw, big heavy blinking and closing the eyes at times. This is a great example of the horse processing as they appear to zone out from the world around them and go inward into themselves, embracing the healing the body is undergoing. Horses live in the moment which is why I believe they respond so well to treatment. As they process their body is filtering through all the information it is received through the treatment given and is working hard to understand that information and respond accordingly.

The last video in the comments where he has no head collar on showcases how the horse continues to process and release after the treatment has finished. This is why you should always give you horse a minimum of 24hrs off of any work after treatment to allow them to fully release, heal and adjust to their new state of being.
