Signs your horse is releasing tension during a session 🧘

🐴 Blinking or softening of the eyes

🐴 Licking and chewing

🐴 Yawning 🥱

🐴 A loose lower lip

🐴 Weight shifting

🐴 Stretching their neck or limbs

All horses are different and some are more expressive than others! During treatments I am always taking the time to assess how your horse is responding to treatment.

A example of before and after treatment from this morning 🐴

In the first picture this horses pelvis was misaligned, as well as further misalignment through her spine.
After treatment involving McTimoney chiropractic adjustments, massage, mobilisation and myofascial release techniques you can see there is an improvement in the alignment of her pelvis.

A before and after of a pony I treated earlier in the week!

Before treatment there was misalignment of the lumbar spine and pelvis, as you can see in the top picture the left side of his pelvis appears lower than the right. Post treatment the alignment of the spine and pelvis has improve and the surrounding muscles have relaxed, leading to an overall improvement in his posture.

Diannah enjoying her treatment this morning 😇

It’s been amazing to see this mares progress. I first saw her after a field injury had led to various compensations throughout out her body.

After following a tailored treatment plan, whilst working under veterinary guidance and correct ground work by her owner we now have a stronger happier horse now back in ridden work 🐎

A quick video showing before and after from a treatment earlier in the week.

As you can see in the first clip when I apply pressure the muscle begins to spasm, he dips his back and steps away. At the end he is relaxed through his muscle and happier with me touching him 😇🐴

This horse was happy in their work and showing no obvious signs of discomfort… highlighting the importance of regular maintenance 😊

I am looking at getting Milli Kelly - Animal Chiropractor and Massage Therapist to come to the yard in the new year.

Milli treats horses and dogs.
The cost for horses is £70 and dogs £40.
There will be the opportunity to bring your horse or dog to our yard for treatment.

All types of horses, of all ages can benefit from chiropractic and massage treatment. Whether that is to improve performance, aid rehabilitation, or to improve comfort and mobility.

Here is what to expect during a session:

🌟 A discussion of your horses history - including exercise regime, routines, changes in performance and behaviour and veterinary history.

🌟 Static and Dynamic assessment - assessment of conformation, musculature, posture and movement.

🌟 Palpation - assessment of the spine, pelvis and other joints for misalignment.

🌟 Treatment - using a combination of McTimoney Equine Chiropractic, Massage and Myofascial release techniques, to allow realignment of spine and pelvis and alleviate associated muscle spasm.

🌟 Aftercare - Discuss how your horses routine and exercise may be adapted after treatment. As well as targeted exercises.

There is also the possibility of Milli coming to do a demonstration to explain what McTimoney is and demonstrate how it can be applied if there is interest.

Let me know if anyone is interested in having their horse or dog treated, or if you would be interested in attending a demonstration.

It is our responsibility to ensure the comfort of our animals and this is a great opportunity to have your horse or dog assessed.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks treating a variety of horses including showjumpers, show ponies, riding school horses, dressage horses, youngsters and golden oldies 🐴
