Cats are naturally more active during dawn and dusk. We recommend keeping your cat in at night as some studies suggest that more traffic injuries happen at night, and they can also be at risk from other active animals at these times. Read our advice here: http://spr.ly/CatsAtNight 🌔

Ever heard the term ’kitten season' and wondered what it means? Although kittens can be born any time of year, most are born between March and September, and this is what is known as kitten season. We see a huge rise in unwanted kittens arriving at our branches and centres in this time, which is one of the many reasons we recommend neutering. Learn more here: http://spr.ly/WhatIsKittenSeason

Although it might not feel like it just yet, summer will soon be here, and it can bring risk to our feline friends. This , learn how to protect your cat. Even though most cats have a protective layer of fur, their skin is still at risk of sunburn, particularly if their fur, ears or nose are white. Oh go on, there must be someone brave enough to take on this little madam. She'll love and cuddle you one minute and turn like the flick of a switch if she's startled. Underneath that slightly edgy side, who wouldn't want a great mouser to keep the vermin out of the feed stores. If you know any stable or farm owners please share. Thank you. Neutered, chipped, health checked and vaccinated.

Exciting news indeed, we met our new Mum today, I do think it's going to be alright!! Can't wait to explore our new house. A happy ending for 2 or "The shed cats, left behind when their previous owner moved, leaving them living in a neighbour's shed for far too long. Now we just need to find a home for Mr T so that's he's not on his own too long. Check out our web page for more information about lovely cats near you go to www.cats.org.uk click on adoptions and enter your postcode.

Update, Barry the bin cat has a new home and a new name. He's very nervous having spent too many weeks living on his wits on the streets. He will need to be an indoor cat for months until he trusts you enough to come when he's called. If you think you've got what it takes to turn a cat's life around please email us on [email protected]

Good news story! Angel, our thyroid cat, went to her new home today. Her fosterer packed her off with her favourite blanket and within minutes in her new home Angel was laying on her blankie eating treats. It's tough for our fosterers to say goodbye after weeks of emotional investment in their cats, but they gain strength knowing that another sad case will need their help very soon.

Over the course of a year we meet lots of cats, some stick out in our memories because they wanted to kill us while others are just so affectionate that we'd adopt them all if our partners would allow. This evening I received the sad news that one of our golden oldies has collapsed and died. He was pretty ancient and we're so pleased that he enjoyed a fabulous last few weeks in a home where he was truly loved. Sweet dreams Tiger, you'll be sadly missed.

I'm Mr Tibbs and I'm a bit worried. I'm looking for a quiet indoor home and could try living with a steady dog so long as it doesn't steal my dinner. When it comes to people, I don't have an aggressive bone in my body but people have been unkind to me and I need someone to give me lots of love. And Lick-e-liks, I like that too.😆

Where are they, I was promised that a new family would come when I was better. I'm all better but no one has come. I'm Angel and I'm a senior kitizen, I follow my foster Mum like a puppy and I can beat her in a race up the stairs. My favourite thing is curling on her lap to watch TV. Please email [email protected] and arrange to take me home, you see my foster Mum isn't allowed to let me go in the garden and I like sunbathing.

UPDATE, we're going to try for a farm home for this little cat, so if you know a farmer who needs a mouser please ask them to get in touch. This little cat has been with us for over 100 days and she has been known to swipe if startled which is sad because she loves to sit on laps, sleep on your feet and generally follows her foster Mum around like a puppy dog. Despite not finding anyone willing to take on a cat with such "cattitude" we won't give up on her. [email protected]

Why does my cat bite me? A bite from a cat may seem like it’s come out of nowhere, but cats do often give us subtle signs that they may be uncomfortable. It could be that the cat is stressed or overstimulated, which may be why they bite when you are stroking them. 🐾 Find out more about why cats bite and how to help prevent this from happening here: http://spr.ly/FWhyDoesMyCatBiteMe

You may occasionally see your cat outside munching on a few blades of grass and wonder...Why do cats eat grass? 🐱 The good news is that it’s usually nothing to be concerned about, and it may even benefit your cat. We don’t fully understand why they do this but read a few theories here: http://spr.ly/618637VJO
