Thank you every single one of you who voted at the NI Pet awards. We had a wonderful evening and won our category for Pet Bereavement Service of the Year and are overwhelmed by some of the comments we have received. Two members missing, Keith and Richard, the shy ones, as you all know not one of us could do what we do without the support of the others. Thank you all of our lovely clients, we appreciate you all.

We are so pleased to announce something we have been working on for a long time.

We are having a PET MEMORIAL WALK in aid of The Barn Animal Rescue Newtownards on 22nd June in Stormont estate.

Pet loss can be very lonely and isolating. I know from losing Lola 7 years ago that I felt like the unrelenting grief I was feeling for months was abnormal. Everyone else seemed to be getting on as normal and inside, I struggled so much. I kept it to myself as I thought I should be 'over it' by now, and people would judge me for the pain I was feeling. So, I kept my grief hidden.

I now know it was completely normal to feel this way. I was very lucky to have so many great people around me when Dodi passed away 3 months ago who understood the pain of that loss and gave me the time and space to grieve for him. I'm still grieving every day.

I want to bring like-minded people together to show that we are not alone. Our pets are family, and we grieve for them like family.

And why not get together and raise some much needed funds for a brilliant rescue. The Barn volunteers will be coming along with collection buckets and some beautiful dogs needing to find their forever home.

There will be a coffee van selling ice cream and puppicinos. We will have a pet memorial board so you can bring along a photo of your pet to display along with a message to them.

Anyone can come along, whether you have experiences pet loss or not. Dogs on leads are more than welcome (and encouraged!)

Bangor - Ballysallagh Road is impassable due to flooding.

Newry Road from Rathfriland Road Roundabout to Mayobridge closed due to flooding.
Ferryhill Road, Newry closed due to a landslide.

A2 Shore Road leaving Rostrevor closed due to flooding
Mayobridge - Hilltown Road is impassable due to flooding between Maybridge and Hilltown

Killowen - The A2 Killowen Road closed due to the possibility of landslips - Rostrevor to Kilkeel traffic will be diverted via Rostrevor – Hilltown – Kilcoo – Castlewellan – Newcastle - Kilkeel. Allow extra time foryour journey.

Scrava - The B3 Legananny Rd has been closed between the Old Mill Road and Lisnagade Road following damage to a bridge - Road users are advised to seek an alternative route for their journey

Strangford :Black Causeway Road, Strangford has been closed due to flooding at a number of locations along the route.

Moira - A26 Glenavy Road remains closed due to flooding leaving M1 Moira Road roundabout. Surrounding roads are also badly affected with flooding. Road users are advised to find an alternative route for their journey. International Airport traffic may want to consider using M1. A12 & M2 as an alternative route and allow extra time for their journey.

Newry - Camlough Road / Newtown Road closed due to flooding. Road users are advised to find an alternative route for their journey.

Newry – The A25 Rathfriland/Finnard Rd is closed between Shinn Straight and the Arddarragh crossroads due to severe flooding. Road users are advised to find an alternative route for their journey.

Helens Bay - The Bridge Road South has been closed due to flooding - Please seek an alternative route for your journey.

Ballynahinch - Drumgiven Road closed from Creevyargon Road to Cahard Road due to severe flooding. Please seek an alternative route for your journey.

Co Armagh

Armagh Road in Tandragee is closed due to flooding. Please seek an alternative route for your journey.

Unfortunately being a pet crematorium means we see people when they are grieving and having the worst of times, I would really love it if everyone would add photos to this of funny times, or just times you will never forget with your pets. It can be photos of pets still with you, or little ones that have passed to rainbow bridge. I hope by doing this we can all remember the best of times rather than the worst of times.

We have just brought this little urn in, it comes in black, blue and pink, I know we dont like to think about the day we have to say goodbye to our loyal and loved furries, we just thought this was a lovely little urn to have.
