We have had to make the decision to close tomorrow, the storm that is expected will present a danger to life with red warnings issued for the whole country and we would not want any our clients to come to harm trying to make their way to us. Please keep safe everyone and perhaps think about whether any journeys are essential. We will still take calls but appointments will not be taken for tomorrow.

🚨🚨 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED🚨🚨

We have been closed now for a wee while and we desperately want to try get back up and running again to help all these furbabies get back home. We really need more volunteers to help us reopen so we can function at the standard you’ve come to expect from us.

We are currently only recruiting for volunteers that can help with the physical reunification of animals along with some admin duties. If you are interested in this role, have a flexible schedule and are reliable please fill out an application using the link below.

A big beautiful ginger cat was left at our premises on Thursday morning unfortunately deceased. We have no details from the person who left it here, so we dont know if someone was looking for him/her. We have taken the cat to Advance Veterinary in Lisburn to be checked for a chip.

Thank you every single one of you who voted at the NI Pet awards. We had a wonderful evening and won our category for Pet Bereavement Service of the Year and are overwhelmed by some of the comments we have received. Two members missing, Keith and Richard, the shy ones, as you all know not one of us could do what we do without the support of the others. Thank you all of our lovely clients, we appreciate you all.

We are so pleased to announce something we have been working on for a long time.

We are having a PET MEMORIAL WALK in aid of The Barn Animal Rescue Newtownards on 22nd June in Stormont estate.

Pet loss can be very lonely and isolating. I know from losing Lola 7 years ago that I felt like the unrelenting grief I was feeling for months was abnormal. Everyone else seemed to be getting on as normal and inside, I struggled so much. I kept it to myself as I thought I should be 'over it' by now, and people would judge me for the pain I was feeling. So, I kept my grief hidden.

I now know it was completely normal to feel this way. I was very lucky to have so many great people around me when Dodi passed away 3 months ago who understood the pain of that loss and gave me the time and space to grieve for him. I'm still grieving every day.

I want to bring like-minded people together to show that we are not alone. Our pets are family, and we grieve for them like family.

And why not get together and raise some much needed funds for a brilliant rescue. The Barn volunteers will be coming along with collection buckets and some beautiful dogs needing to find their forever home.

There will be a coffee van selling ice cream and puppicinos. We will have a pet memorial board so you can bring along a photo of your pet to display along with a message to them.

Anyone can come along, whether you have experiences pet loss or not. Dogs on leads are more than welcome (and encouraged!)

Just a little post to say the best way to contact us is by phone call. we can't guarantee that we will be able to reply to every message that comes through facebook or whatsapp as phone calls and phone messages are always answered and messages through Facebook or Whatsapp are easily missed. These methods are helpful for queries about details, but if you have unfortunately lost a beloved pet the very best thing is to call us.
