Puppy toy play!!! 😍😍
Does your puppy/dog have this much fun playing?!
If you have a new puppy spend time learning about what they enjoy and try an array of different toys and games. Awaken the child in you!!! 😄
It’s so important to do this when they are young! Go have fun!!!

Things you can stop doing in 2025 if you want to build the best relationship with your dog! 🐶
❌Saying No! It has not been trained to mean anything to them. Instead try noticing when your dog does the right behaviour and say ‘good’ and reinforce it with a treat!
❌Your recall cue when your dog is less than a metre from you! They are already really close to you! This can reduce the effectiveness of your recall cue. Instead use a nice cheerful clicking or kissing noise to get their attention say ‘good’ and reinforce it with a treat!
❌Drag your dog away with the lead when they are distracted! Tugging your dog away from something will communicate tension down the lead. Instead brush them on the shoulder gently and once you have their attention use vocal encouragement and some treats to move away together.
❌Come say hello! Let the dog make the choice if they want to approach a person or dog. Instead watch your dog’s body language and try to interpret what they are saying to you. Backing away, hiding, barking, freezing are all signs they do not want to say hello! No is an acceptable response!
❌Shouting the dogs name when annoyed! This is a hard one and it is likely you may do this from time to time. We are all human! The thing to remember is if you do raise your voice in anger then depending on their confidence this can chip away at your bond with your dog. So make sure to spend some quality time with your dog with lots of praise to pay back in to that relationship bucket!
Would you add anything else to this list? 🤔
Give it a go! 🐶

‼️Five areas to focus on when you first pick up your puppy 🐶
🐾Build a positive relationship! This is always my first response! A new puppy needs to feel safe and relaxed before they can learn anything! Do not be pressured to start training your puppy things in their first few days with you, help make their environment as comfortable as possible and focus on building a human puppy bond.
🐾Safe space! Your puppy will be feeling rather nervous having moved away from everything they know! Think carefully where would be a good place for them, away from drafts and direct heat, somewhere people are around but also where they is opportunity for rest away from an area that has constant traffic. For your puppies first few night you should plan to sleep near to them to help them settle in.
🐾Toilet training! Start this as soon as your puppy is relaxed in your home environment. Be clear with everyone in the household with where you will take your pup for toilet breaks. Ideally outside in your garden is best if possible and safe to do so. Have a schedule and use an alarm to remind you to take your puppy out at regular intervals to begin with.
🐾Play! Puppies will need time to learn to play with you. Make sure you have a variety of different toys and try to think of new ways to engage with the toy, moving it about on the floor, slow to fast - concentrate on the toy not on your puppy. Take the pressure off, soon they won’t be able to resist getting involved!
🐾Car Travel! Remember to plan your first journey to pick them up. How will you secure them or make them feel safe in the car. Remember they will want to be close to humans as they might need some reassurance if it is their first trip. You might need to plan in some stops if it is a longer journey. Take time to reintroduce your puppy positively to the car by spending time playing and chewing a chew for example in the car without any travel and build up to doing very short trips to beginning with.

When it’s time to relax 🧘♀️…
Well there is not much spare time in life at the moment! But when there is, here are a couple of things I do to relax…
Funny that both involve animals in some shape or form 😂
I mean who doesn’t love massaging their dog! 🐶

🐾 It is Animal Pain Awareness Month. 💖
This is a subject I feel passionately about.
It can be hard to spot pain in animals, they are experts at masking it and carrying on as normal. But we can get better at watching, observing and deciding if our animals are in pain.
I have included some photos/videos of my dog;
👉he is not limping
👉he is not crying in pain
👉When off lead he runs, jumps, swims
👉He would chase a ball if you threw one
👉He would chase anything if he wanted to
👉He would jump on and off sofas and beds
𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 and it has been managed through a multi-modal approach (which ” means using different methods together to get the best possible outcome.)
Along with the above he also;
❗𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 or be 𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹
❗His 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗸𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱
❗He doesn’t pick his feet up always and you can hear 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿.
❗There are 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀, such as becoming 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 such as thunder and a 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 to heavy rain on windows. This response is not normal for Harley and is a strong indicator that we need to visit to the vet to look at options to help.
I encourage you to take time to observe your dog and consider small changes in their behaviour. This article by CAM (Canine Arthritis Management) gives you some information on identifying & monitoring the signs of pain. Ch
Whilst it can be frustrating when your dog finds another reason to stand still for ages getting a free meal when you need to get them home.
Remember to use the freebies to your advantage!!! 😄Pick the best fat juicy ones they can’t reach and pop them in your treat pouch to reward them to stay close to you!
