Hi everyone I thought it was about time that our new baby Wilfred made his appearance here. This little guy has been a work in progress and there’s still a long way to go with him but I know we will get there . Every single one of our Pouchies turn out to be really tame and friendly and that’s because we’ve had over 17 years of experience. I would also like to say a very big thank you to little Wilfred’s breeder James McKay for letting me have this beautiful boy . James has many many years of experience with these guys and he’s a much valued part of the UK Pouchies team

So after a road trip all the way from Derbyshire yesterday I would like to introduce you all to our latest new baby . In keeping with the names of the little characters from the mice of brambly hedge books by Gill Barklem please meet little Wilfred . This beautiful boy was bred by James Mckay who is an excellent Pouchie breeder and much valued member of the UK Pouchies team . Our beautiful boy is related to James’s gorgeous boy Norman who has his own fb page CBBC Norman . He is Wilfred’s great grandad and is also celebrating his own birthday today so why not check him out and wish him a happy birthday

We would just like to say a very big thank you to Matt and all the staff at the national emergency services museum in Sheffield for inviting APOPO and UK Pouchies along to the Animal Heroes event . As you can see Izzy just had to get cuddles from her new friend Matt . She and her little partner Teasel were absolute little stars and loved by everyone they met bless their little hearts . We are just so proud of our beautiful babies

Today at the national emergency services museum in Sheffield our beautiful girl Izzy got to take control of the famous police car from the tv series Heartbeat . She and her little partner Teasel are here at the Animal Heroes event helping to represent APOPO in making people aware of the valuable work these beautiful creatures do . For anyone who would like to get the chance to meet these gorgeous babies why not come along to the museum tomorrow and get the chance to meet them in person

Sadly we lost Jaylah. She passed peacefully in her sleep last night. Unfortunately she got pyometra and nothing further could be done.

Although with me for a short time she will be missed greatly. 😔

Event announcement

Izzy would like to tell people that she , and her little partner , Teasel , will be at the National Emergency Services Museum in Sheffield at the “Animal Heroes” event on the 15th to the 16th June!. So why not come along to the APOPO stand and say “hi” , and meet these beautiful creatures and learn all about the valuable work that APOPO does , training them from their headquarters in Tanzania?!
