This wee man has been brilliant this week. Its a time my dog training has been put to work, that's for sure! At 12 weeks, Machir is learning all about the world and figuring out what us humans are asking from him.

This weeks wonderful walkies. It's been a week of hot weather so often the dogs sought out shade. I'm not going to argue with this. It's great the groups have the independence to seek out what they need in a safe environment.

A mix bag of walks for Tuesday and Wednesday. Sometimes the dogs seem distracted, so I take precautions and pop a long line on, and offer extra training and games near me to help with focus. Other times they are confident and ready for some independent exploring. No two walks are ever the same...

Last night we had a precious moment with Fiddich, our 8 year old whippet, and new lurcher puppy Machir. A cuddle in the same bed after a very well mannered play.

Fiddich has not been impressed with the new arrival in our home. We have been making sure that they have seperate spaces in the home. Fiddichs routine has been kept close to normal, and any time she has with Machir has been supervised, with human interruption when he gets too excitable with her.

Five days into living together has been a big change for everyone, but the play they had last night was a positive sign they will be great pals.

Phew!

What's been happening on this weeks walks? Honestly, each walk has been a joy! Everyone has been content in one another's company, happy to work independently, and cooperative searching for sniffs and treats. No squabbles and cuddles in the car too.

Puppy Classes starting May 2024

Would you like to make sure you are training your puppy using positive methods?

Regular puppy classes start again on Wednesday 22nd March and will run for 7 weeks. Classes are held at Maryhill Community Centre.

Puppy Pawsteps- 610pm-655pm- suitable for puppies aged 12-24 weeks.
Puppy Beginners- 705-750pm- suitable for puppies 6-24 months old.

The block of lessons will cover puppy essential training suited to each individual dog. Class sizes are kept at 6 max to ensure I can give all dogs some 121 attention in class.

Training covered will be;

-loose lead
-recall
- sit
-down
-stand
-chin rest
- touch
- go to bed
-spin/twist

1-2-1 training sessions are also available for dogs of all ages.
