🔸 Ensure your dog has plenty of water and shade all day.
🔸Do the tarmac test: if you can't comfortably hold your hand on tarmac for five seconds, then postpone your walk until it's cooler.

😳 This week has been both busy and incredibly rewarding thanks to my visits to T Diamond Dog Daycare and Boarding. ⬇️ Twice I had the pleasure of meeting the wonderful dogs Tunde cares for, and every minute was a delight. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ They welcomed me with such enthusiasm! It was truly an honor to spend time with them and get them some exercise. Thank you so much for this opportunity, Tunde. I hope to see you and the furry crew again soon. 🐾💪🏻
⬇️ BALANCED TRAINING MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU AND YOUR DOG. ⬇️
“I just found it worked when force free didn't for years. I was tired of trainers telling me to turn around and walk away from my dogs triggers or try to bribe her with food when she absolutely didn't care. I was scared to try a prong until a trainer that I trusted showed me how to fit and use one properly and I never looked back with this dog. I still wouldn't use one for every dog, but now I see for certain dogs/cases more balanced training is highly beneficial. It's much clearer to my dogs what I want and don't want now, but not in a way they fear. My super soft dog that was force free trained until about 3 is e-collar trained now and our obedience is so great, he's so trustworthy and works off leash at times as my service dog. I used to think that FF was the only way to go but balanced training has helped all our dogs and our fosters positively with different issues, so that's proof enough to me it can be done without harming a dog or your relationship.”

☑️ Bonding with your dog.
🔸ONE of the ways to bond with your canine companion is spending quality time full of pets and cuddles. Make sure to engage in intentional physical contact with your dog. If your dog enjoys snuggling, take some time to cuddle with them on the floor. Pay attention to what they like the most, whether it's ear scratches or belly rubs, and spend quality time cuddled up together. 🔸
🐾 Dogs possess up to 300 million olfactory receptors in their noses, compared to about six million in us. 👃🏻And the part of a dog's brain that is devoted to analyzing smells is about 40 times greater than ours. 🧠 Dogs also have something called 🔸neophilia, which means they are attracted to 🆕 and interesting odours. 💨
🔸 We are dedicated to assisting dogs with unwanted behaviors ❌ and turning them into beloved family pets. 🏡We collaborate with you and your dog to develop a personalized 🦮Behavior Modification Plan 📁tailored to your dog's specific needs, ensuring that you feel empowered to manage your dog's behavior effectively. ☑️
🔸 This process provides you with reassurance that there is hope for improvement, and we will work together to help you achieve the well-behaved dog you envisioned and cherish. 🎯
❓When you walk your dog, how does it react to other animals? Does it bark and lunge at squirrels, birds, cats, and other pets? If so, then this dog may accidentally hurt your rabbit out of excitement.
📢 Barking and lunging at small animals can also be a sign of a high prey drive, which can be bad news for a rabbit.
🐕🦺 Dogs are predators, but some dogs have a higher prey drive than others.
🐇 You might think that little dogs would be less likely to harm a bunny than big dogs. But your dog’s size is less important than its prey instinct. Many small dogs were bred to hunt and chase different species of small prey, including rabbits.
🐶 Many dogs bred for this purpose have a natural instinct to chase, and sometimes kill, small animals. A few breeds with a high prey drive include terriers, lurchers, and collies. It goes without saying that coyote and wolf hybrids should never be introduced to your bunnies.
🐩 Training can help to tame your dog’s prey drive, however it would be safer still to not take the risk in the first place, and choose a dog breed with a low prey drive.
🐕 Any dog that you introduce to your rabbit needs to have mastered basic obedience training. This means, at the very least, it must obey the basic commands “sit” and “stay,” even when it is desperate to chase a fast, furry rabbit.
🐾 Your dog must also “leave” or “drop” the object of its interest the minute you give the command.
🐰 Many rabbits move in a fast, unpredictable manner, especially when frightened. For some dogs, this can prove irresistible. Your dog needs to be well enough trained that it will resist.
🔸 Any time you bring two animals together, it’s important to think safety first.
🔸Dear clients!🔸
🔸Best wishes to you this Easter. 🐣
May your life be blessed with joy and success. Thank you for your trust and support. 🐾

Thinking about adding a second dog friend to your family? 📢
🔸Having 2 dogs can bring so many benefits! Not only do they keep each other company and entertained, but they also provide double the love, double the cuddles, and double the joy! Plus, they can help each other stay active and engaged.
🔸There will be additional costs to consider for veterinary care, boarding, food, bedding, and toys. Sibling rivalry can occur if the dogs feel there is competition between them over resources. This can include feeling competititve over food, toys, attention, and space, as well as the humans in their lives.
🔸Dogs are social animals and usually happier around other dogs, but a second dog will never be a substitute for inattentive, absent or too busy owners.

It's National Day today - March 20th. This special day is dedicated to raising awareness and understanding for anxious and reactive dogs, who may have unique socialization needs. The color yellow acts as a visual signal to indicate that a dog requires space. ⚠️
🎗️The goal of Dogs In Yellow Day is to increase awareness about anxiety in dogs. By spreading the knowledge that a dog in yellow needs space, we can reduce stress for anxious dogs and their owners. 🎗️
Dogs wear yellow for various reasons, such as being

The most magical part about engagement games? They don’t just help your dog’s behavior while out on a walk, but at home too. Engagement training really just improves your relationship with your dog overall and makes it deeper, stronger and more complete. Once your dog chooses to engage with you over distractions out in the world, they will behave better at home too, because they’ve realized that you, their human, are the most fun to hang out with—even over other dogs, prey, or new people. And of course, there’s nothing cooler than being your dog’s favorite.🐾🐶🦮 #PooleDogs #DorsetDogs #DogTraining #LovingLeadership #DogsUK #DogTraining #CanineTraining #CanineBehaviour #BondWithDog #EngagementExercises #Encouragement #Direction
In essence, the distinction between a dog that pulls and a dog that walks calmly at heel comes down to their understanding of rewards.🏅The dog that pulls believes that pulling will get them to their desired destination faster, such as the park. Conversely, the dog that walks obediently at heel recognizes that pulling is ineffective and that following commands and listening to their owner is what earns them the trip to the park. 🏞️🌳🌲🪵 #PullingOnTheLead #ObedienceTraining #Expectation #Reward #TripToThePark #LeadTraining #Heel #LooseLeadWalking #BehaviourModification #BulldogMoment #Success #OneSession #OneToOne #PrivateTraining #DogTrainerUK #InTraining #DogInTraining #TrainingMode #ForestTraining #AdventureWalk #DailyDoggo

⬇️ #Leadership is often a misunderstood concept. Leadership does not mean "#dominance" or "#alpha". 🔸Leadership is having the mental and emotional strength to show your dog how to behave. To show him what is expected of him. And to see him for who he is, a dog, who wants to be recognized as a dog. Many dog owners insist that their dog's be humanized. To be treated as "fur babies" who should be showered with treats and affection. This can cause a huge amount of stress and confusion for your dog. #Dogs are pack animals. They thrive on rules and #boundaries. When that isn't provided, dogs can become fearful, reactive and exhibit bad manners which can eventually turn to #aggression. 🐾 Dogs just aren't equipped to live in our crazy human world. It's up to us to lead the way and teach them how to be #calm and #confident. #DogTraining #BalancedDogTraining #Bond

🔸Your dog is not giving you a hard time, your dog is having a hard time. Reactive dogs are not necessarily aggressive dogs, but reactivity can turn into aggression, so your attention to training becomes extremely important. ❗️
🌹🔸 Here are some fascinating facts about Dog Mums and their pups : 🔸🌹 1. Humans carry their young for 9 months but dogs have a much shorter gestation period of an average of 65 days. 🐾 2. Dogs can only become pregnant when they are in “heat”, which generally happens twice a year. 🐶 3. Newborn puppies cannot smell, see or hear! The first sense they use is touch, which is why it is so important for pups to stay near their mum. 🍼 4. You may see Mumma dog start nursing her puppies while she is still in labour. Even if she’s still mid-way through delivering her litter, she’ll already be nursing and caring for her newborns. 🧡 5. The size of a litter depends on the breed, mum’s age and other factors. The largest ever recorded litter was 24 Mastiff puppies in 2005. 😲 6. During their first week, newborn pups spend about 90% of their time sleeping and 10% eating. Not too dissimilar to newborn humans who follow a similar pattern. 🤱 7. 24 hours before labour, pregnant female dogs become restless and may start shredding paper or blankets. It’s unclear whether this shredding is a nesting instinct or just a reaction to discomfort. 🚺 8. Just like humans, some dogs can experience Postnatal Depression. This can show itself in them sleeping excessively, showing no interest in their puppies and a loss of appetite. 😔 9. Puppies start to move from milk to solid food at around 3 – 4 weeks. Not long after, they will eat a completely solid diet and won’t need mum’s milk anymore! 🥩 10. During the first 16 weeks of their life, Mum will help support, protect and guide her puppies as they’re at their most vulnerable and impressionable. From then onwards, their role instinctively encourages self-reliance & independence. 🦴 HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY 🌹🧡🐶🐾
⬇️🔸 Dogs are traditionally walked on the left precisely because it is not your dominant side. Most dog breeds were developed to work with humans. For example, to heel on the left while the hunter had a gun in his right hand, or to heel on the left while the shepherd had a crook in his right hand. #heel #command #dogtraining #frenchbulldog

📌 HOW TO PUT ON A SLIP LEAD 📌 🔸The neck of a dog can be divided into three sections: the base near the shoulders, the middle across the trachea, and the top at the base of the skull and behind the ears. The key to effectively using a slip leash lies in the positioning. 🔸When the leash is attached to the base of the neck, it encourages pulling as the dog strains against the lead. Corrections or pressure applied in this area are felt in the shoulders and chest, triggering the dog's instinct to pull with more leverage than you have. This can result in a futile tug of war. 🔸Using the middle of the neck for corrections can be harmful to the dog, as their neck is similar to ours. Tugging on the leash in this area puts pressure on the windpipe, potentially causing injury or, in extreme cases, crushing the windpipe. Preventable emergencies at the vet are something we all want to avoid. 🔸Therefore, the ideal position for a slip leash is at the top of the neck, near the base of the skull and behind the ears. This allows for effective communication without risking harm to the dog, and they won't feel the instinctive urge to pull against any pressure they may feel. #LeashTraining #SlipLead #DogTraining #DogTips
