eekend stays are available. Pet holidays for those who don't like putting their pet in the kennels - home away from home holiday for your pet while you have yours! Includes required walks/special diet requirements/constant company - only your pet(s) will be staying (unless otherwise arranged) so as to provide a safe no-stress environment. £25 per night (discount available for longer stays)

Vet visits include pick-up and drop-off. Vet bills not paid! :)

It's hard to say goodbye to Mylo, treat-detector, stick-destroyer, swimmer, prolific caster, pack-calmer, softy, cuddler, grunter/singer and all-round good dog.

(1 of my dogs moved away and another has just been re-homed).
You don't need to take all 5 days!
Ideally based in Gourock or West End.
Your dog should be social and have recall at least 50% of the time! 😆
Must be up to date on flea meds etc
A love of gravy bones is essential.

Appeal For Information – Theft Of Dogs, Amulree, Perthshire

We are currently investigating the theft of two dogs from a farm steading at Amulree near Dunkeld, which happened between 2 – 2:45pm on Thursday 15th July.

The two female golden cocker spaniels (pictured) were stolen from their kennels in the yard at the steading, which were forced open. Other dogs were present but were not taken. While the spaniels do have a notable financial value, more importantly they belong to a family who are upset and concerned for their welfare.

Two vehicles were seen near the steading during the relevant time period, a white Transit van and a silver Mondeo (originally reported to us as a blue Ford Focus). It is not known at this time if either vehicle has any involvement in the theft, and we would like to trace the drivers of both vehicles to ascertain if they have any information that could assist us.

During this warmer weather at Castle Semple when the water at the loch is at its most enticing blue-green algae appear. I sampled the water this week and the main algae was one called Gloeotricia or Gloey for short. This algae can be a skin irritant or even fatal if ingested in concentrations. Light winds push this cyanobacteria to the loch's edge where it may form thick green scums that are potentially toxic. It’s advisable to keep dogs away from these scums as they will lick it off their fur. Water users should wash hands, wet suits etc. thoroughly after activity to avoid skin irritations or potential ill health.
