Hello everyone! It's been a minute since I've posted! Thought I would update you all. Life has been busy from the move back into the Dee. A few changes have happened this year a long the way. All of my clients have been amazing, I am grateful for you all 🌻

This October 14th, I will be grooming 10 YEARS! In that time , I collected many wonderful clients along the way, and due to that, I have many dogs on yearly scheduled appointments. I am currently booked out until the start of July, folk's. I have so many dogs on scheduled appointments that I have very little space to move around for last min appointments or baths. I am sorry to turn away dogs, but there's really not enough hours in the day. I won't get ahead of myself this year, unfortunately! 🥴 please be patient with me. Thank you! 🌻

Happy December! The count is on to the big day! 🎅🎅🎅
Just a reminder that the run up to Christmas is really busy for me and it would really help if everyone can be on time and on the right day 😉 I will message everyone a couple of days before to confirm you're definitely able to make it. If you can't make your appointment PLEASE let me know ASAP! I have a long cancellation list, and I can pass it on to the next customer. I do pride myself on being a one to one groomer, but sometimes, especially this month, you may cross paths with others. I can't be getting told off again - I can't cope with it, lol! Hohoho 😃🎅

This best boy Teddy comes in every 4 weeks. Bath on his 1st schedule, then full groom on his 2nd scheduled visit. It keeps his very curly coat knot and mat free! He loves being groomed, runs in and straight on the table 🥰🥰🥰

After 9 years of grooming, I officially had my 1st complaint today! Folks please remember I am a lone worker, admin/cleaner/wife/daughter/granddaughter/dogwalking full-time groomer/homemaker and on top of all that, I try to have a life with friends too. Sometimes, I make mistakes! I am not perfect, I am human. Your dogs do not stand still for anything! They can fight, get frustrated and bored. Even though I try my very best, it's possible to miss a bit, or one ear longer than another. Those things can be fixed and sorted. But how you speak to me is important too. Telling me I'm overpriced and rushing is not helpfull especially when there is an oversight that I take responsibility for. I do my very best 99% of the time and like you I have off days or even months. I go to bed tonight with a heavy heart, I'm disappointed I let someone down. I am raging with myself because someone isn't happy. Be kind, always! You have no idea what's going on in people's lives 🤍🫶🏽

🌟Maverick's 1st ever grooming experience 🌟 I would love to tell you the 1st groom is easy, but that would be a big lie 🤥 how ever the earlier your pup has groomer experience, the better! They are unsure of everything, even scared! Can cry or be completely crazy! Better getting it over with as soon as possible, and with each visit, your pup will get more relaxed and confident. We can all agree that Maverick is absolutely gorgeous! And as for his lug👂he is perfect in this imperfect world. Welldone Maverick 🏅🥈

🦟FLEA CONTROL AND PREVENTION 🦟

Thank goodness I don't see many fleas! But take a look at this poor dogs skin - imagine the irritation on your skin dealing with something biting you all the time! PLEASE NOTE: dogs don't always have irritation from flea. Some of them don't even notice. But this poor wee pet is absolutely tortured. I don't care if your dog doesn't mix with dogs or there's no other dogs in your home. There are fleas in the environment all the time, especially in the warmer, wetter months! They thrive. Did you know that 1 flea can lay up to 100 EGGS per day? 100 eggs in your home that could have been dropped off even from someone elses coat or socks. Even a cat in your garden? Can't blame all cats - myself I have 3! They're de-flead every month from day one, no matter what I take no prisoners when it comes to fleas. Don't skimp on your flea treatment. The stuff from B&Ms won't cut it either. Pet's @ home offer to send treatment to your door every month for very little. The vet can also supply a flea treatment plan. DON'T wait until you have them in your home to bother with dealing with them! They're an absolute nightmare to get rid of and can take months!!

Please note: after this dog left my shed was flea bombed and sprayed with Indorex. I take no chances with other peoples dogs.

I'm just here to say THANK YOU all for keeping me so busy! I appreciate you all, especially as costs are rising all the time. Every single one of my little darlings I love dearly ❣️ and it's always nice to see them back even when they try out another groomer for a time 😉 but it has come that time of year again where I have to CLOSE my books to new clients. > wish I could groom them all, but sadly, there are not enough hours in the day. And as I am only one person I have to make the call. I usually open my books again after Christmas 🫣 I hate saying that word in spring, lol. I have very little left now in June and July, so if you are a regular of mine and you want to book ahead, please send me a message. I know it's hard to think so far ahead, but once July comes, there are only 2 or 3 grooms to Christmas, depending on how often you come 😁🤪🤪🤪

I like to call her my shop cat. Bella's not always here, but sometimes she visits depending on the dog lol. This is just a wee reminder to use flea treatment on your pets as now the weather is getting milder. All my pets are treated every 4 weeks all year round to protect them and yours, so I would appreciate it if you're coming to my home that you treat yours too 🤩🧡 thank you 🧡

You’re on a walk and you see a dog on a lead. Your dog is running free.

Q: What should you do next?
(Cue *who wants to be a millionaire* music).

Is it:
A: put your dog on a lead
B. Let your dog run over and say hello.
C: Shout “Don’t worry, he’s friendly.”
Or
D: What dog? You were playing candy crush.

The answer is…. A.

Did you get it right?

Many dog owners don’t. They don’t understand what a negatively life-altering situation a rogue dog can be for on-lead walkers.

Here’s why:

Dogs you don’t know could be on lead for 100s of reasons.

They could be blind.
They could be recovering from surgery.
They could be deaf.
They could be aggressive.
They might be scared of being approached by strangers.
They might be training.
They could be a service dog.
They may be a rescue.
They might be terrified of dogs they don’t know.
They could be elderly or physically vulnerable.
They might simply prefer to walk on lead.

In the end, it doesn’t matter why they are on a lead. It’s none of your business. But what is your business is CONSENT.

Leads are a little flag that say “don’t come close”.

When you see them, putting your dog on a lead is respectful. You show the other owner that you CARE about their choice and consent. It doesn’t matter if your dog has 100% perfect recall. You respect the other person and their dog enough to be courteous and kind to uphold everyone’s safety by making absolutely sure everyone is on a lead (no matter how much you trust your dog).

As a person who is often walking a dog on lead for all of many the reasons listed, I can’t tell you how my heart sings when I see someone extend this gesture to me and my pack.

Your dog has no right or business running up to ANYONE (dog or human) without clear PRIOR consent to do so.

You have a responsibility to ensure your dog is in control in a public place. Failing to recall is an offense. It counts as a dog out of control in a public place.

Did you know that huskys blow their coats twice a year? The blow usually lasts about 3 weeks and its never ending! When they blow their coat its getting rid of the old hair for the new :) of course you should never shave a husky.. their double coat keeps them cool in the summer an warm in the winter 🐶🐶🐶🐶
