RSPCA Crewe, Nantwich & District Branch Small, self-funded, volunteer-run charity. Rehoming dogs, cats and rabbits across the wider Crewe area.
🐶🐱🐰

We rehabilitate and rehome cats and dogs (and the occasional rabbit) across Crewe, Nantwich and surrounding areas. Although we follow RSPCA guidelines, we are a separately registered charity, responsible for our own funding and, as we are all volunteers, any donations or money raised goes entirely to the feeding, housing and treatment of the animals in our care. We do not have an animal centre, ou

r animals are cared for by fosterers or in private boarding establishments. As volunteers, we are not equipped or authorised to investigate suspected cases of animal cruelty - much as we may wish to. Please report such cases to the 24-hr national RSPCA line 0300 1234 999.

Banana was rescued with his siblings after a very difficult start in life, which meant that he was a bit shy and worried at first. We placed him in a loving foster home with all the day-to day-family noises and experiences and he is becoming a lot more confident and happy.
Banana is just 16 weeks old and he is looking for a permanent home where the kindness and love will continue, so that he can continue to thrive, as he has lots of love to give.
Banana plays with his siblings, but he prefers to find a warm place to curl up on his own. He likes his sleep, preferably under his fosterer’s chin or in his fosterer’s hair - he appears to love a blonde comb-over, as you can see in the video! 😄
He enjoys a cuddle and will be a loving pet as he grows up.
Banana would ideally be homed to a quieter family setting. Children of 10+yrs should be fine. Banana should be fine living with another cat. He is currently fostered with a cat-friendly dog and is quite happy living alongside him.
Could you offer a much-needed home to Banana and give him the kindness, love and care that he deserves after his tough start in life? Please complete our online form at bit.ly/purr

Update 28/8/24: Thank you to everyone who shared this post. We've received quite a lot of interest in Jack, which we're currently working our way through. We are still happy to take applications. :-) If you are interested in fostering Jack, please would you read his full profile at the link given below to see whether you match the criteria for meeting Jack's needs. You can then apply using the online form (which gives us the basic info that we need to start things off). Once we have a completed form, the rehoming team will get in touch with you. Please do not make enquiries about Jack (or apply to foster) via social media. Thanks.
We’ve had some sad news about our lovely Jack. He’s had further assessments and it turns out that he is quite a bit older than we originally thought – around 12 years old, rather than 9. Not only that, but he’s deaf! 😭
We’re so worried for Jack. We’ve been appealing for a foster home for him for a while now, but with absolutely no success. This latest news won’t help. 😢
Jack’s a great dog, an affectionate boy, good on the lead, and with just a few training needs which can’t be tackled in the kennel environment.
It’s so sad that Jack might be spending the remainder of his senior life in kennels, never experiencing a home with 1-1 love and care.
🙏 Is there anybody out there who could foster Jack?
🙏 Do you know anyone? Perhaps a retiree with a bit of time to offer Jack?
🙏 Please pass Jack’s details on. We will pay all expenses.
🙏 Please, please get in touch if you can help Jack. 🙏
This is what Jack needs: https://www.rspca.org.uk/local/crewe-nantwich-and-district-branch/findapet/details/JACK_FOSTER_ME/BSA2130418/rehome

A happy bunny ending!
The black bun is called Jet, He was a lone bun until his owner adopted our three, Coco, Lulu and Columbus, as buddies. They are all settling in together very well. 🐰
Have you got a lone bun? You can improve their life so much by getting him/her some bunny company. We can help with the bonding and settling in. Just email our team on [email protected].

Our sweet Jack is still waiting for a home. We’re so sad for him but this boy doesn’t let things get him down. He’s such a happy dog, which is amazing considering his background.
We don’t know too much about Jack’s life before he was rescued by the RSPCA. He was found in a filthy empty house, together with 13 other dogs. All were very thin and crawling with fleas. They had clearly been neglected for some time prior to being abandoned permanently. All, including Jack, were very wary of people. It’s hard to imagine the Jack we know ever being wary of people, he loves everyone!
After a stay in ‘holding’ kennels, the dogs were gradually taken in and rehomed by different RSPCA branches. A sad effect of the current rescue crisis is that branch spaces are hard to find and animals sometimes have to stay in private boarding for some time, effectively in limbo. We were finally able to take Jack in, after 8 months in holding, to begin his rehoming journey. Unfortunately, long-term neglect had taken its toll and we realised Jack’s journey would take a little longer. His skin issues were well established and proved tricky to get on top of. As we showed in a previous post, he’s much better now. After trying a carefully controlled hypo-allergenic diet and various medications, we have settled on a regime that seems to be working. Jack’s skin is now mostly settled, with just an occasional small flare-up. Medication, supplements and anti-fungal baths have made a huge difference. Jack is like a different dog these days.
Because this regime needs to continue a while longer, we’re looking for a long-term foster arrangement for Jack, rather than an adoption. This means that the branch will cover all of Jack’s expenses - food, vet bills, medication, supplements, anti-fungal shampoo etc. Any equipment Jack needs will also be provided by the branch.
If you're interested in Jack, you can find out more about him on our website https://www.rspca.org.uk/local/crewe-nantwich-and-district-branch/findapet/details/JACK_FOSTER_ME/BSA2130418/rehome
We would be happy to arrange an introduction.

Could you provide a dog like Jack with a new chance at life by fostering him for a while? Give him experience of life in a loving home and a bit of training? He's been in kennels for such a long time.
We will provide full support, and cover all his expenses. You just need to provide space, time, and love.
Jack's a great dog - you'll love him when you meet him. Please get in touch if you could help him. 🙏

We’re very pleased to announce that our gorgeous Lola was adopted on Friday!🥳
Lola came into our care in April. She didn’t cope well in kennels so we placed her in a foster home until she could be adopted. Lola’s wonderful foster family (Heather, Anthony, Oliver and Henry) helped her so much, we can’t thank them enough. In kennels, Lola wet her bed most nights. She was quite reactive to other dogs and was destructive with her toys. We think these behaviours were a result of the cruelty she had suffered before coming into RSPCA care.
Whilst in her foster home, Lola was able to relax. She quickly mastered house-training, learned how to play with toys and was able to enjoy a life filled with fun and love. She also became good friends with the neighbour’s dog, Paisley. The new skills Lola learned in her foster home, together with her increased confidence, made it easier to rehome her. We know she will be very well cared for, and much loved, by her adopters. Lola will be having her first seaside holiday soon. We can’t wait to hear how she likes the beach. Trevor and Helen have promised to send photos, which we’ll share. We wish Lola lots of love and happiness in her forever home 💞.

If you’re interested in fostering, you can find details on our website https://www.rspca.org.uk/local/crewe-nantwich-and-district-branch/help/volunteer . All expenses are covered by the branch - you just need to provide a home, love and care. Fostering is very rewarding and makes the world of difference to the individual animals. Please get in touch, we’d love to hear from you!

Update: Olaf is reserved (again). We so hope things work out this time. 🙏
Olaf's adoption has fallen through! He's only a kitten and we don't want him to be growing up in the cattery. Please share as widely as you can to help him. 🙏
Just look at him! Olaf is the cuddliest, most affectionate of kittens - he's like velcro! 😻 He is so sweet-natured, funny and engaging.
Olaf is ready to go to his new home now. He should be fine with children, other cats and cat-friendly dogs. He has been vet-checked, microchipped, vaccinated and neutered.
Bring Olaf into your life (and your lap) by completing the form at bit.ly/rcnpurr

Our older, deaf, Staffy-cross, Jack, enjoyed a break from kennels this morning. Volunteers, Ewa and Chrissy, took him for a trip to Nantwich. You can see how much he (and they!) enjoyed it in the video. His deafness doesn't cause a problem on his walks as Jack is very attentive to his handler.
Jack really has the most wonderful nature. He's friendly with everyone he meets. He takes everything in his stride and goes with the flow. Nothing seems to faze him.
Sadly, this lovely boy is still waiting for a home. Tomorrow marks Jack's 6-month anniversary with the branch. He was in RSPCA care, waiting for a space with a branch, for several months before he came to us. We would love to mark the occasion with the offer of a foster home!
If you're interested in Jack, you can find out more about him on our website https://www.rspca.org.uk/local/crewe-nantwich-and-district-branch/findapet/details/JACK_FOSTER_ME/BSA2130418/rehome

A happy bunny ending!
Triton (white) was recently adopted and is now named Bobby. He has settled in nicely with his bun pals, Frank and Dave.
Rabbits need company. They don't have to live in male-female pairs, but can be just as happy with same-sex company. If you have a single bunny, please don't leave him/her living alone. Contact our rabbit rehoming team on 07585 670 792 (you may need to leave a message), and we will help you find a suitable companion for your pet.

Update: Both of these lovelies have been adopted. 🎉
Olaf and Anna are cuddly, friendly kittens who are unexpectedly without a home. 😢
They are unexpectedly available for adoption again due to a change in circumstances of the person who reserved them.
They are totally adorable kittens who are really friendly, confident, playful and they love a cuddle.
Anna is queen playmaker, also enjoying fuss and Olaf adores a lap and a cuddle when not playing with his sister.
Both are around 13 weeks old, and are ready to go. They are neutered, health checked, microchipped and fully vaccinated.
They do get on very well together, but we would consider rehoming them separately as they really do need the opportunity to settle in a home.
Both kittens have lovely natures and will make lovely family pets. They should fit in with any type of family. They would be fine with children, neither are fazed by other cats, and we believe that they would be fine with a cat-friendly dog.
To adopt either or both of these sweethearts, please complete our online form at bit.ly/rcnpurr and we will arrange an introduction.

Jack was in a sad state when he came to us, the result of years of neglect. We're so pleased with his progress. Look at the difference from February to now!
The improvement in Jack's condition is partly due to his weekly bath - after being sprayed with water all over, a special anti-fungal shampoo is applied. Jack then has to wait, standing in the bath, for 10 minutes before the shampoo can be rinsed off. Although he's really not keen, he's so patient and placid (of course, plenty of fuss and a few treats help). As you can see in the video, he really is a very good boy!
Jack is looking for a foster home. As with all our fostered animals, all of Jack's expenses will be covered by the branch.

Delia has just been neutered and she is ready to be viewed and reserved for her forever home.
