If you are fleeing and can take your pets with you, all surrounding countries are now accepting pets without any documentation or papers. 
 
Below is a list of shelters and charities you can support. If you know of any others, please let us know in the comments. Thank you!
 
- The International Fund for Animal Welfare is fundraising to rush emergency aid to two Ukrainian shelters: Shelter Pif (Donetsk) and Holivka Shelter (Gorlovka).
 crew in Odessa, Ukraine. Many people have had to abandon their animals and leave. They are staying and helping animals left behind.
 
- the Romanian animal rescue charity, located 25 miles from the Ukrainian border, has pledged to help families fleeing by providing veterinary care to their companion animals.
 shelter - the largest shelter for stray animals in Ukraine, established in 2000. As of today, there is no communication with the shelter since the evening of 2/27. Most likely, the fuel for generators has run out. There is no light or water.
There will be enough food until Wednesday. Russian vehicles are parked 10 km from the shelter, the passage through Kyiv is blocked.
 
- Ukrainian animal shelter who has no way to evacuate the animals to safety. They had their electricity supply damaged, so the shelter has no water at all. If you are nearby and have the opportunity to bring water to the shelter, please help.
 
- All the animals in the shelter are alive and well. Due to fighting and shelling, traffic and the operation of shops remain limited.
 official - working to help over 50 shelters in Ukraine with supplies and animal transfers. 
 
is accepting dogs and all animals from those in the area. They had been working to transport animals over the border, but that is now impossible due to the danger of the roads. They have enough dog food for one week, though there’s a shortage of cat food now.

We just had to share this today.
It's estimated that around 300 dogs took part in search and rescue efforts at Ground Zero in the wake of 9/11. Here are the stories of two guide dogs who just happened to be there on that fateful day: Salty and Roselle.⁣

Salty, a yellow lab, was born in 1996 and trained by Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Part of his training included trips on the subway and getting used to traffic in the Bronx. His owner was Omar Rivera, who worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey as a senior systems designer. ⁠⠀⁣

On the morning of September 11, 2001, Salty and Rivera were in their office at the World Trade Center on the 71st floor of Tower One. Salty was sitting beside Rivera's desk when they heard a loud boom and the building began to sway. Rivera grabbed Salty's lead, and Salty navigated him around people and debris and down the crowded stairwell. ⁠⠀⁣

About halfway down, a co-worker, trying to help, tried to take Salty's leash but the dog refused to leave Mr. Rivera, and instead lead him to safety. ⁠⠀⁣

Similar to Salty, Roselle, another guide dog, was with her owner, Michael Hingson, asleep under his desk, when the attack commenced. They were on the 78th floor of Tower One when the hijacked airplane crashed into the tower, 18 floors above.⁠⠀⁣

Hingson called his wife, Karen, and then made sure his staff evacuated. Then, he and Roselle began the 78-flight descent of stairs while the building swayed.⁠⠀⁣

Hingson later said, "While everyone ran in panic, Roselle remained totally focused on her job, while debris fell around us, and even hit us, Roselle stayed calm."⁠⠀⁣
⁠⠀⁣
Roselle lead Hingson through smoke, debris and fleeing workers, until they reached a subway entrance, where they helped another woman who had been blinded by falling debris.⁠⠀⁣
⁠⠀⁣
In the aftermath of the attacks, both Salty and Roselle were awarded Dickin Medals for “remaining loyally at the side of their blind owners, courageously leading them down more than 70 floors of the World Trade Center and to a place of safety following the terrorist attack on New York on 11 September 2001.”⁠⠀⁣

Rocco has started work with his new handler at the Grant’s distillery and Bran will remain with Stuart. We’ve already had a number of requests for Stuart and Bran to assist other whisky makers in Scotland.

‘My mum has a poorly dog not eating or drinking due to an injury. The Slurps arrived and both her poorly dog and her healthy dog gobbled them up!
They were a great hit, perfect for dogs having difficulty eating.’
