Mizz Pawz will be back to work on Monday after the next storm and the snow has cleared! 🥳

I’ve rescheduled all the sessions that were over the storm period. I’m currently nearly fully booked till the end of February for dog training and behaviour. If you’re looking for any training services please get in touch as soon as you can to book you in.

Our training can be held via online video call, in person sessions and I also offer home visits within my coverage area.

I may also have some spaces coming up for my group training classes (group
Classes are suitable for current or existing clients)

If you have already messaged and have not had a reply yet, I apologise and would ask if could you please message again, I’ve been Inundated with enquiries since the start of Jan and some messaged may have been missed.
Enquires come through Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, text, calls and email so sometimes they can get accidentally lost!

Our usual training place has a lot of trees down and access is difficult but this should be cleared by Monday. (I’ll be down there tomorrow checking the area anyway). I also have quite a lot of home visits booked in too.

I hope everyone is doing ok and there hasn’t been too much damage. Here is a list of companies who can help with storm damage that I have personally used or know people who have used them. Covering north and South Lanarkshire

We have had a fence down and neighbours in our estate have also had alot of damage.

If you’re needing storm work I’ve made a list of companies/services which can help.

Fencing work - Stephen (07708 134526) he’s done my full fencing this year (bar the section that came down!) and he’s in my estate tomorrow looking to replace and repair my old downed fencing and a few neighbours fences. He’s also a qualified joiner as his main profession.

Tree work, gardening and landscaping (can also do fencing) - Kevin from Q Gardens (07806 797806). I’ve used his services for years and he’s excellent. He’s out and about tomorrow doing emergency tree work and removals. He’s a qualified tree work and landscaping specialist

Roofing - Hillplast Ltd who helped me out earlier this year in the last storms were excellent and great price too. 07899930500

Or Martin Keenan who is a roofer in my estate and I know people here who use him and think highly of him (PM for details)

Just a safety reminder for dogs in the storm and some interesting storm information.

This storm is a low pressure storm and this can cause anxiety and restlessness in dogs when there is any sudden Barometric pressure change. For people it can also caused increased joint pain and pressure around your chest and potentially breathing difficulties for people with existing health conditions as low pressure systems reduce the amount of oxygen available in the air making it harder to absorb oxygen.

Changes in Barometric pressure from storms can also potentially increase your dogs risk is a seizure (if they are epileptic)

Don’t let your dogs out in the garden unattended incase of fencing issues or flying debris.

Check your gates and fences each time you take your dog out. (Mine has been ratchet strapped shut)

If on a walk I would personally avoid walking in wooded areas and I also wouldn’t let my dogs off lead in this just incase they got spooked.

Avoid driving if you can and I certainly wouldn’t have my dogs in the car with me during this just incase of an accident.

Hope you’re all having a pawsome week so far!

Thursdays are usually my working office days but instead we decided to go over to Troon with the dogs, meeting up with Trainyourdogs with Heather Smith , for a nice walk at Fullarton woods where the dogs got to meet lots of other dogs, get some training time in, and have a good run off lead around exploring for a couple of hours. Oreo is feeling a bit better now so thanks to those of you who have been checking in and making sure he’s on the mend, he gave us a right fright the other day when he got unwell.

After this we headed over to dog friendly restaurant thefox_troon for some lunch, well earned puppicinos and dog sausages. The dogs were shattered after their walkies

Then we popped into The Pooch Pantry in Troon where the dogs got to use some of their Paw-ket money and buy some natural chews, treats and toys!

Had a lovely session with Hugo the French Bulldog today. Hugo is working on his indoor training as he has some big feelings towards new visitors in the home.

As you can see from the photo, he took to the training and guidance really well and by the end of the session was such a sweet and affectionate little soul!

Way to go Hugo, you can do this! 🙌🥰

Rusty the 8 month old the Cockerpoo started his 1-2-1 loose lead walking course today.

It’s their first dog and they need a little help with his energy levels, training and outdoor skills.

He did brilliant at his first session and now has a lot of knowledge and homework to continue until his next session with me.

Today he worked really well in his new skills and showed how good he can be.

Happy training Rusty and looking forward to working with you again at your next session. 🥰🐶

Meet Murphy the absolutely stunning Whippet puppy who has just started my 1-2-1 recall course working on his lead skills and off lead recall.

He did fantastic today, recalling off birds, squirrels, dogs and people. He’s such a sweet guy and just needs a little extra help and guidance.

Can pain affect your dogs? Of course! Let’s talk about it 🐶🥰

Just to let everyone know my 121 training sessions spaces are filling up fast. *Group class information at the bottom of this post too*

I only have one or two spaces left for 1-2-1 sessions in January and a lot of February is booking up now too and into March.

Evening and Weekends tend to be a longer waiting time.

Generally for 121 training it’s around a 2/3 week waiting time. That’s me working 12 hours a day, and working most of my days off, trying my best to fit you all in.

For my client only group classes (these are available for clients who have previously or are currently doing any 1-2-1 training with me) I will be having new intake space from Mid February and I’m currently taking a waiting list for these classes. So if your looking to progress onto my group classes please message asap to get yourself on the waiting list to avoid missing our!

Check out handsome working cocker puppy Bailey. He’s just started my 121 puppy life skills course.

As with most puppies, especially working breeds, they can be extremely hyperactive, mouthing/nipping as young dogs and very “switched on” with a keen need to work and a non existent “off switch” 😂

Bailey did fab at his first indoor session where we start his training, talk through his needs, routines and how to help him settle into a calm family life.

Looking forward to seeing him and all the other puppies I’m working with at their next sessions.

Today I’m working in the office so I’ll be replying to all my messages, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, email, texts and calls that have built up over the last few days! So if I haven’t replied back to you yet, don’t worry I should have replied by end of business today! Such a fun but busy time of year for dog training and behavioural services!

Stormy the Mini Labradoodle puppy started her 1-2-1 Puppy Life Skills course last night and was brilliant!

She worked super hard through her session and learnt a lot already. As part of my 1-2-1 puppy life skills course, included, is a home visit and consult session which talks owners through how to set up their puppy, start their training and advise on their nutrition, new routines, and lots of other questions you may have about taking a new puppy into your home.

I do enjoy working with owners and especially puppies!

Happy training Stormy, you did fab and I’ll see you at the next session 🥰🥳

Say hi to Rosie the Cavapoo. She’s on so teeny and adorable! She’s working with me to improve her recall and dog interaction skills so that she can live her best life safely off lead!

She did awesome and had her first time totally off the lead at her session and was a superstar. She had a great time passing and greeting dogs along the way too 🥰
