Handsome chap Ralph has started working with me on his behavioural training.
Ralph is such a well trained dogs with a committed owner who has clearly put so much time, love and effort into his training and quality life.
They also work alongside other trainers which is great. Ralph can find certain situations overwhelming and is working with me on his outdoor arousal levels and excitement so that he can cope around high level distractions and hopefully get back to agility soon!
02/12/2024
How handsome is Dante! He’s just started working with me on his training and loved every minute!
He’s such a keen little dude and it was lovely seeing him enjoying his session.
See you again soon!

Oscar and Bailey were back for their training around other dogs and People. Bailey can get a little too excited and overwhelmed by dogs/people outside and starts to bark.
Once he’s greeting dogs he’s friendly but he’s not sure how to bridge the gap when he sees them until he greets them (very common issue with pet dogs).
He did fantastic and Oscar was a super star. Oscar has lost his sight but will he getting an operation soon to restore his sight!
Happy training and good news all around 🥰🐶

Hope you all have a great Halloween and remember people coming to the door in costumes can be scary for your dogs.
Make sure you have them in another room when answering the door of safely on the lead.
Another video for you guys to look at.
To give you a hint, In this video, cookie has something wrong with one of her legs, can you spot it?
Pain in dogs can be hard to spot, a lot of dogs don’t typically display pain. But yet studies show up to 80% of dog behavioural issues can be due to pain. Not all pain can be seen either, such as pancreatic pain, digestive issues, heart issues etc.
“ A review of the caseloads of 100 recent dog cases of several authors indicates that a conservative estimate of around a third of referred cases involve some form of painful condition, and in some instances, the figure may be nearly 80%. The relationship is often complex but always logical.”
Even if it’s not a current pain dogs also, like humans, can have memory pain too which can created unwanted behaviour and upset to your dog.
This is why, with a lot of my cases, I request a vet or physio check. Over the years I’ve gotten good at spotting signs of pain and lameness in dogs. But they should always be checked regularly.
I was actually speaking to Nick from Esk Valley Dog Training about this yesterday!
Do you know how to recognise pain in your dog? Sudden change of behaviour, excessive licking or chewing, pacing, panting, low mood, sudden onset aggression, shaking, drooling, limping, uneven muscle development, etc.
Some common behavioural side effects of pain can be:
Touch sensitivity, fear especially around noises, dog or human reactivity, resource guarding, inter household dog fighting, the list goes on!
Does you dog have regular check ups at the vet and ideally a good physio?
For those who are interested, it’s her back right leg which is delayed and dragging slightly. She was taken to the vet then I also consulted with a very good physio who I regularly recommend to clients Lisa Cleeton,Veterinary Physiotherapy, Spinal Manipulation & Shiatsu

Well done Teddy and lovely to see you again! See you soon for the next session 🥰
Trying Goats milk powder for the first time and they love it. It’s a great way to ensure your dog stays hydrated (ideal for us going to Europe in the heat), good for reducing any inflammation as well as improving digestive and immune function.
I didn’t think the dogs would like it as Oreo is so fussy but Needless to say but they love it!
Bought from Fettle if anyone is interested as always great to support small businesses.
