You can’t beat a good puppicino! Oreo has been hanging around with me all day playing with Cookie and his spaniel pals, off to Ruben's Pet Store and Dog Daycare for some presents for cookies birthday tomorrow, off to pets at home for some soft toys, away to Shelbys Dog Bakery to pick up cookies birthday cake and of course Costa for a wee treat where we ran into Cassies family which Oreo enjoyed greeting!
Then he headed of to his agility class with TT dog training school where he had his best night yet! Managed all the equipment including the A frame which was the first time he has been brave enough to go over it and even managed to recall from a horse too.
He’s been a busy boy but super proud of him, he has his moments but he’s turning into a right cracker of a dog.
Jumping up at you or your visitors can be unwanted but also dangerous. I’ve worked with several clients who have had bad falls themselves, or with visitors entering their home, and even broken bones from dogs becoming too excited and jumping up.

I’m just back from dropping off donations at the SSPCA in Hamilton where I was able to have a good chat with them about the difficulties they are facing currently with the dogs in their care. They are run off their feet just now and even having space to take in new dogs is tough.
They have a behaviourist on board to training and work with dogs currently in their care and dogs rehomed with serious behavioural issues.
But they do not have the ability or capacity currently to offer ongoing training support for any other cases or rehomed dogs unless they had a known issue before rehoming.
They were pleased I can offer a discount and support for the dogs coming out of their care to help the dogs and owners best integrate together and reduce a second rehoming.
I’m currently also awaiting a call back from the SSPCA Behaviourist team to add in extra support from myself and my company.
I will be offering a 15% training or behavioural discount for any dogs rehomed through the SSPCA in the last year and going forward. I can offer in person training as well as remote training.
We need to do more to support these dogs and give them the best chance at a happy life and family.

Loose lead walking is one of the most important skills your dog needs to have not only for safety but so they (and you) can fully enjoy your walks together. All breeds can walk with a loose lead, even your working breeds such as spaniels and Labradors.
