Rosie came into CGSR 18 months ago requiring rehab. Extremely head shy, no idea about the outside world & very fast to use the teeth.
She preferred the taste of the volunteers to the look of them.
During her time with us, the rehab fosters & volunteers had turned her round from a scared fight or flight pup with no socialisation into a very nice girl.

Rosie had been gradually introduced to the scary world, learning that parks, pet stores & supermarkets were not as bad as she thought. She graduated with honours visiting the teddies bears picnic & helped Rookes elf at Christmas.
She has been a total love …. And very naughty!
Rosie was now ready for adoption so we started looking for the perfect home for her.

Last week her fosters noticed a lump on Rosie’s neck, vet visit diagnosed aggressive lymphoma, within 2 days the lump had doubled & all glands were compromised.
To see her health deteriorate so rapidly in the past week was quite scary and very eye opening to what lymphoma can do. One minute racing round the garden, the next minute staring at the walls. Unable to maintain weight no matter how much she ate. Bright as a button to totally vacant and confused in seconds, not even recognising her foster parents at times.

Rosie had a week of whatever she wanted, we knew time was short so nothing was denied her.
Roast beef, mashed potato, gravy, sausage, bacon, eggs, cheese, yoghurt & strawberry jam donuts! (We won’t mention the MacDonalds drive thru)

We had doubts about if it the time was right but her eyes told the story and the vet confirmed to have waited longer would risk huge suffering.
Rosie gained her wings yesterday, run fast & free beautiful girl 🌈💔

A big thank you to everybody that contributed to Rosie’s Rehab, we had a cracking girl ❤️

Please donate if you can to help us help more like Rosie. We know she never got her adopted family but CGSR was her family from the moment she landed with us.
If you are unable to donate, please share Alex’s fundraiser. Thank you.
