Switching behavior from one side to the other is not always easy! This is one way of how to do it errorlessly in the example of abduction of back paw (itās an exercise of putting back paw on the target and then back down to strengthen the muscles).
Remember, if your dog is showing signs of discomfort in the way they walk, it can be important to work with a qualified professional such as dog physiotherapist.
Have you tried to switch behaviors from one side to the other? Spin is a more common example. How did it go for you? Share in the comments! š

Interested in training your dog to wear a muzzle? Here's an idea for you! Begin by introducing different objects for them to place their mouth insideāfor example takeaway box, plastic cup, and only then a muzzle. You can add many more in between, it's up to your imagination and creativity :) Establish a routine with the easiest object: present it, when the dog's head is in, use a marker like 'good' or a click, and reinforce on the opposite side. Once the routine is set, repeat with other objects. In the early stages the next day, go through all three objects but transition more quickly.Have you tried this exercise before? Share your experience with me in the comments! š#muzzletraining #dogtraining101 #dogtrainingtips #dogtrainer #clickertrainingfordogs #positivereinforcementdogtraining
As a pet sitter, cuddling with dogs is a crucial task. Keep in mind that not every dog enjoys cuddles, so it's essential to gauge their interest. One method is to pause and withdraw your hand ā observe their reaction. In the attached video, the dog expresses affection by nuzzling my face, a gesture not everyone might appreciate, but it comes with the territory of being a pet sitter :D. When she stops and looks away, it's a clear signal that she's had enough.
What signs does your dog give when seeking cuddles? Share in the comments below! :)

Hereās a handy tip to simplify life with dogs: set up barriers such as baby gates and crates (for previously trained dogs) throughout your home. This helps keep your dogs separated when necessary. Have you implemented barriers in your home? Feel free to share your experiences in the comments!

Transform a leash-pulling, inattentive dog into one eagerly walking beside you in 6 easy steps.
Ever faced a similar challenge? Some blame it on breed tendencies, but behaviors like eating can be improved with practice. Iām curious to hear your thoughts on this tutorial with Pip the pointer. If your dog lacks interest in treats during walks, try this exercise and let me know your results.

āAll I can do is make the best of the life Iām givenā Jonah Primo in the Work in Progress show at Waking Up app. Itās tempting to dwell on life's challenges (trust me, I've faced my fair share), so to counteract that, I've developed a habit of intentionally recalling the positive moments. What better time to do this than at the beginning of a new year? Here's my 2023 reflection:1 . January - Cherishing family time in Poland and adventures in London. 2. February - Exploring Romania for the first time. 3. March - Engaging in various pet sits in London and visiting family in Poland. 4. April - Meeting adorable dogs in different parts of London. 5. May - Soaking up the sun in San Jose, California and meeting with incredible trainers and animals. 6. June - Enjoying a brief trip to Poland and delightful moments in the UK. 7. July - Staying in Leicester with a charming cat and meeting new dogs in London. 8. August - Sightseeing across the UK, from London and beyond. 9. September - Exploring Spain, from Saragossa to Barcelona. 10. October - Discovering Edinburgh for the first time. 11. November - Celebrating my birthday in Dubai. 12. December - Cherishing good times in London, San Francisco, and Poland. Countries visited: 7. Cities visited: 17. Dogs met/cared for: 19. Cats cared for: 2. Guinea Pigs cared for: 17. I donāt take my life for granted; I acknowledge that change is an inevitable part of life. I celebrate what I have and continue to work towards my goals. While fitness goals come naturally to me, next year, I aim to focus on new business ventures. Being grateful doesnāt mean halting progress; it simply makes the journey more enjoyable. šWhat are you grateful for in 2023? Take a moment to reflect and share your discoveries. š¤#2023reflections #petsitterlife #dogcare #dogcaretaker #travelgoals
