This is Izzy, she came for a review of her medication. As you can see she wassn't phased by being at the vets, she just wanted a belly rub from everyone! ❤

Peter
This lovely bundle of joy is Peter. He is a 9 week old jack russell puppy who had a hernia repair recently. He recovered well with lots of TLC ❤️
Jasper also got play time once he was fully recovered. It is really important for young patients to receive a positive experience when they come to us 🥰
Remember Sweat Pea? She came in for her stitches out and demonstrated how one eye won't stop her!
Ninja
The handsome 8 month old Maine Coon, Ninja was described by his owner as a shy timid cat. Look how relaxed and at ease he is in our tranquil cat ward.
We were able to take bloods and prepare him for his procedures in a relaxed environment with minimal restraint making it a stress free experience. ❤️

Meet Zion 🐾👋
Follow our patient Zion from admit to discharge.
This big friendly giant is a 40kg malamute cross who visited us earlier this week to undergo a castration procedure.
First of all one of our nurses completed a consent form with his family, he then proceeded to have his pre operative checks including blood tests.
All of his checks were normal so our nursing team prepared his medication, placed his iv catheter and transferred him to theatre.
He was carefully monitored throughout his general anaesthetic and surgery with all his vitals taken regularly. His monitoring continued with a nurse as he was waking up.
Once he was awake enough, he was guided back to his kennel where he continued to receive routine checks.
Later that afternoon he enjoyed a little wander outside and a tasty dinner.
We wish you a speedy recovery Zion 💙
Keyhole spay
Here is a video of one of our lovely patients who recently joined the keyhole club.
Keyhole surgery is less invasive, post-operative recovery is more rapid and discomfort is less. Here is the evidence as she leaps into the car without any sign that she has just undergone abdominal surgery!
If you are considering spaying your dog and would like to discuss keyhole surgery please call any of our practices during normal working hours and one of our staff would be happy to talk to you.
This handsome fellow is Zeus.
He recently spent two weeks in our care after an extremely severe stomach bleed. We don’t know why he developed a severe stomach ulcer, but due to the amount of blood loss Zeus collapsed and had to receive two blood transfusions in 48 hours.
He was critically ill for several days, but with the diligent care of our team Zeus started to improve and has gradually returned to good health.
He was super excited to get home and although we were very sorry to see him go we are all delighted he has made such a fantastic recovery.
Dental disease is one of the most common health problems found in Guinea pigs.
It can be caused by a lack of fibre in their diet which is found in hay that helps to wear down their teeth. Without fibre, your Guinea pigs’ teeth can become overgrown which means it can become difficult for them to eat. To help to prevent this from happening, you should feed 85-90% of feeding hay alongside a small portion of nuggets to prevent any selective feeding.
Another cause is a lack of vitamin C, which can be found in leafy green veggies as well as Guinea pig food.
Here is Hob Knob enjoying his greens post dental procedure🐹🦷
When leaving your feline friend with us for procedures that require them to stay for the day or overnight, do you worry about their accommodation and how they will settle?
We have a purpose built sole use cat ward that’s been specifically designed to help your cat to feel as secure and relaxed as possible.
Here they have a climate controlled room with air conditioning, featuring state of the art feline friendly cages with Perspex doors and cat holes to expand the area to double the size. They also have hides where they can sit on top or hide underneath. Feliway diffusers are used to help them to relax along with cat friendly music that they all seem to love (vets and nurses included)!
Have you ever watched closely to see how a dog actually drinks?
Well, here is a slow motion video of Spot, showing that dogs actually curl their tongues backwards to create a scoop for the water!
Always make sure your pets have access to clean drinking water, especially in hot weather.
