The results of our Name the Kitten Competition!
We asked for your help naming a little girl, little boy and a litter of 4 kittens.
There were plenty of brilliant suggestions, but our favourites (and ones which aren't currently in use, bearing in mind we have over 60 kittens and cats currently in our care) are:
Onyx, suggested by Sian and Morvenna
Jet, suggested by Sian and Emma
Willow, suggested by Jane
Sardine, suggested by Irene
Sausage, suggested by Gwenllian
and Bandit, suggested by Kimberley

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, and please pass our details to anyone looking to rehome a cat/kitten (all our animals are neutered, socialised, parasite-treated and vet checked!)

We will post a picture of our newly-named cats as soon as we can get them to sit still for a photo!

Very smart stray black and white neutered male cat aged 1-5 years old, he is vet checked, neutered and litter trained.

Has been living in a shed on our smallholding in Blaenpennal near Tregaron for about 2 months he is not micro-chipped and no one has claimed him.
We think he would be good in a home where he was the only cat with no children or dogs

WE HAVE AROUND 60 CATS AND KITTENS WAITING TO COME INTO OUR CARE! WE NEED ADDITIONAL FOSTER CARERS!

RSPCA Ceredigion is an entirely VOLUNTEER run RSPCA branch and we never put a healthy animal down. We primarily care for cats/kittens (we don't have any bording facilities for other animals including dogs, but we do help direct owners to rescues elsewhere). We currently have around 60 cats, including around 30 kittens, waiting to come into our care, but our catteries are full.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

1. GIVE YOUR LOVE: We are seeking new FOSTER CARERS (see below)
2. SHARE YOUR LIFE and ADOPT one of our cats/kittens which will free up a place in a foster home or cattery! All our cats/kittens are microchipped, vaccinated and neutered. See the posts on this page or speak to Jane on 07831 269183.
2. GIVE A DONATION to our branch via our crowdfunder page below to help us cover the costs of caring for the large number of cats and kittens in our care (our main costs are vet costs, including neutering, vaccinations, microchips and medications including flea and worm treatment, and food/cat litter)
3. GIVE YOUR TIME and get involved in helping us to run our branch: fundraising, admin such as taking minutes at meetings, arranging neutering of stray cats etc, we always need more volunteers!
4. Share this post!

HOW TO BECOME A FOSTER CARER?
Foster carers welcome one or more cats or kittens into their home until they are ready to be rehomed. Usually, this involves taking them to the vets for neutering/microchpping (we pay the vets) and socialising them in your home. We pay for all their feed and cat litter. We don't rehome kittens until they have been neutered, so they are likely to be with you for several months until they are old enough to have this operation. Older cats may have had a bad experience of humans and need time, care and love to put them in a position to be rehomed.
You MUST be able to keep the foster cat or kitten INDOORS at all times. This is to prevent them running away from an unfamiliar environment and to prevent pregnancies before they have been neutered.
Existing pets or children do not prevent you from becoming a foster carer and each foster carer is decided on a case by case basis, but do have a good think about whether your particular circumstances work with an indoor foster cat or kitten.
Call Jane on 07831 269183 and leave a message, she will get back to you.

Lily is Indiana’s little sister – literally! Small in size but so big-hearted,

Lily has really grown in confidence during her time here. She loves to play with her toys and is very affectionate.

We think she would spend most of her time at home, so perhaps would suit someone retired, or working at home? It would be lovely to see her settled with her brother Indiana.

Lily has been neutered, wormed and chipped and is ready to start a new life.

For more information please ring Jane on 07831 269183
Lily will be homed in the West Wales area

Indiana truly lives up to his name… this intrepid explorer was first to try out the tunnels, shelves and hammock in his new pen!

We think he’s going to love being outdoors, so he will need somewhere safe where he can have plenty of adventures. Indiana is a big fan of cuddles, and his favourite trick is to hop onto his fosterer’s back while she’s cleaning (it always works).

We would really like to see Indiana homed with his sister Lily.

Indiana has been neutered, wormed and chipped and is ready to start a new life.

Tilly… those eyes! This pretty tabby and white kitten gets on really well with her feline friends, and loves a bit of human attention too. Bright and energetic, she is usually first to the food bowl in the morning, and likes to watch the birds through the window. We think she’d be suited to a home where she could be outside when she pleased, and come home to a warm lap in the evenings.
Tilly has been neutered, wormed and chipped and is ready to start a new life.

Sid is desperate to be someone’s best friend… his playful nature and lovely manners would make him an ideal companion for an older child.

He has lots of energy and loves to interact with people. Outgoing, highly affectionate and is always first to say hello, this very special young man won us over from the start.

Sid has been neutered, wormed and chipped and is ready to start a new life.

Dolly
Dolly is a beautiful black cat that defies her age of 9 years, pretty and playful she will entertain you for hours.
Dolly would be fine with older children and a cat savy dog, she would love a garden to play in or sit in the sun as long as she can have a cuddle with you later.

Friendly and affectionate, Dolly would suit someone looking for an older cat rather than a kitten, although to look at her you would never guess she is an older cat!

Dolly has been neutered, wormed and chipped and is ready to start a new life.

Dolly, Smudge and Emily and Dewi.
Dolly, Smudge and Emily tortoiseshell tabby and a loving, playful young ladies. They get on very well with all of their siblings and foster feline family. They enjoy playing with toys as well as empty boxes. Ideally, we would like them to be homed in pairs to make the transition to their forever homes easier. Emily is a little more cautious and nervous than the other 2 but once she has come to know people she is as carefree and loving as the others.

Dewi
Is the gentleman of the litter and is similar to Emily in being cautious. He is a silver tabby and we suspect will be the largest of the litter once fully grown as he has a larger frame than the more delicate, fine b***d girls. He, we suspect will also be the more inclined to be a lap cat along with Dolly. He is however also very playful and would be preferably placed in his forever home with a sister for feline company

They will all require a home with plenty of supervision, especially on settling in. They require a home away from traffic and busy roads as they are completely unfamiliar with this danger. A home with older children (10 years and older) or adults, would be preferred due to their boisterous, playful nature.

They have all been neutered, wormed and chipped and is ready to start a new life.
For more information please ring Jane on 07831 269183
They will be homed in the West Wales area

Horace, Morris, Wallace and Doris

Four gorgeous kittens looking for lovely homes, three boys and one girl – who of course is the leader of the pack, bossing her brothers around!

Horace and Morris are the larger tabbies, while Wallace and Doris are smaller silver mackerel tabbies. It would be nice if they were adopted in pairs or all four together (which would be lots of fun!)
They need outside space to play and a lap or two for snuggles, they could cope with a cat friendly dog and older children (teens) to play with them.

They have all been neutered, wormed and chipped and is ready to start a new life.

For more information please ring Jane on 07831 269183
They will be homed in the West Wales area.

14/09/2023

Lulu is about 18 months old and has not had the best of starts in life but remains optimistic and in good spirits that someone will come along to love and cherish her.

Although no more than a baby herself she has already had a litter of kittens, that sadly, because the conditions they lived in, did not survive.

Now in good health, Lulu is the cat she was always meant to be, playful, inquisitive, and full of beans, her eyes are bright, and her lovely tortoiseshell fur gleams and sparkles in the sunlight.
Lulu would be better with older children who could handle her rough and tumble, and could live with a cat friendly dog. Access to outside is a must so she can run around and let off steam.

Lulu has been neutered, wormed and chipped and is ready to start a new life.

Great news! Sam has been rehomed!
Pob lwc old chap!

Sam is still waiting patiently for someone to love.
Sam has come into the rescue through no fault of his own, and is desperately unhappy being confined.
He needs someone who understands he will never be a lapcat but would just like to see out his old age coming and going as he pleases, he can use a cat flap so outside space is very important.
he would suit a rural environment to give him the space he craves, but also a comfy place to come home to. While he hates being locked up at present with patience and kindness, and a sympathetic, understanding of Sam's nature he would adjust to a new home.
Sam is 11 years old and because he will take time to adjust we recommend a home with no children or dogs.
He has been neutered, wormed, and chipped and ready to move on to a kind understanding home.
For more information please ring Jane on 07831 269183
Sam will be homed in the West Wales area.
