Dog Breed Types 🐕 | Part 1

There are hundreds of different dog breeds across the world, each with unique traits and characteristics. However, these breeds can be categorized into seven primary groups.

The Gundog group includes breeds known for their hunting and retrieving abilities, while the Hound group consists of dogs bred for tracking by scent or sight.

The Pastoral group encompasses herding dogs, known for managing livestock and the Terrier group is made up of feisty, energetic breeds originally bred to hunt vermin.

Meet Rocket ⭐

This cheeky chap has to be one of my favourite cockapoo pups ever!!! He is so eager to please and a really quick learner.

Rockets owners have been extremely dedicated to his training and paid really good attention to detail about his behaviour which has enable us to create exercises and changes in his routine in a quick and time to help training progress very quickly.

I have no doubt that with a little more support rocket is going to be an absolute model dog! I can't wait to continue to watch him grow.

Meet Moose ⭐️

This two year old border terrier is absolutely full of character and so much fun! His owners have done a great job so far and I have stepped in to help with his reactivity when out on a walk.

He is highly intelligent so at times training can be challenging with these types of dogs but it makes it all the more rewarding in the long run.

This is only the beginning of his journey as we are one session in but I can't wait to see the results when we finish.

🏆 DOG OF THE MONTH 🐾

This is a new feature to replace dog of the week, I raised the expectations and I'm now giving a monthly award for the dog that has shown fantastic work obedience and improvement.

This will be a monthly post to compliment both dog and owner and I am delighted to announce that the first winner of ⭐️Dog of the Month⭐️ is Milo the Frenchie and his owner Charlotte!!

Milo and Charlotte are a fantastic pair and an absolute pleasure to work with. Charlotte puts a lot of time and patience into Milo's training and the results are really clear.

Charlotte listens very clearly and asks questions to make sure she understands everything we go through on our sessions and she puts in fantastic work between our sessions to ensure Milo learns the new skills.

Milo is a fantastic little dog full of character and beans! He is definitely one of the best and he has so much love to give you can't help but be drawn to his charismatic oinky personality. He may snort more than he barks but that just adds to his character, and I've never seen a dog with more enthusiasm!!

Meet Craig the sassy staffy ⭐️

Craig is one of the happiest dogs I have ever met and he does want to please but unfortunately his favourite thing to do in life is push his boundaries and become overstimulated very quickly.

In our session, Craig has done really well following my commands and looking for direction before acting. He has shown absolutely massive potential and is one of the friendliest dogs I have ever met.

He has an owner that is very, very committed and works really hard on the training sessions we have and the homework I give them and I know with a little time and patience he will be the absolute model dog. We have already seen a few glimpses of, keep up the good work guys!

Meet Effie the golden retriever ⭐

Effie is one of the most fun and intelligent dogs I have ever met. She is an absolute dream to work with even when she has her sassy moments! She has an adorable love for both her owners and other dogs.

She has done incredibly well on her socialisation, lead walking and recall. Effie has been with me since she was very young and has had fantastic results across all elements of our training, her owners are absolutely brilliant and a pleasure to work with.

I am very much looking forward to our next session where we work with intense recall with high-level distraction.

Meet Skye the bulldog mastiff cross ⭐️

Sky is a very nervous girl and extremely misunderstood as lots of this breed are. She originally came to me to improve her socialisation skills and be able to walk in close proximity to unknown dogs without showing any fear or worry about their presence.

We started very slowly with Skye walking in quiet areas and now can walk through busy villages past lots of people and other dogs. We have a little bit of work left to do making her feel more comfortable and helping her put more trust in her handlers, but so far she has done a fantastic job and I can’t wait to see what our final results look like.

Meet Benji the cockapoo ⭐️

Benji is such a gentle soul, he is naturally well-behaved and absolutely adores people and everything about life.

So far we have worked on lead walking and he picked up on our loose lead walking techniques immediately. We have now moved onto doorman and helping him contain and control his excitement as people are entering the house.

Benji has come on leaps and bounds in a very small time and I am looking forward to seeing him on our next session

Meet Mop ⭐️

We aren’t 100% sure on her breed or her age as she has had a really tough time in life.

Mop is a rescue dog and her new owners have done an incredible job rehabilitating her from the trauma she experienced and creating a fantastic relationship and level of trust between them and her in such a short amount of time.

Not only have they worked well on her confidence being alone at home, but her lead walking recall and man is leaving the house have vastly improved, she is an absolute pleasure to work with and I can’t wait to see how she continues to thrive in her new home.

Meet Sam,

Sam is a handsome 2 year old Labrador who is a pleasure to work with, he first came to me with general obedience needs and in a few weeks we have a bullet proof recall, great socialisation and perfect loose lead walking. OK so I have been a bit rubbish with posting dog of the week but the last session Dot had was so amazing!! Lola the Bassett hound puppy has progressed amazingly throughout her training. She has mastered impluse control, stay training and her recall is getting better and every time I see her ! Lola has an amazing dedicated family who had all worked very hard on her training and it really shows in the results!! Great job Lola and family keep up the great work

This weeks dog of the week goes to………PICKLE!!

When I first starting working with pickle she would constantly bark at other dogs, bunny hop on two legs and she was terrified of the scooter. She has always been very friendly and affectionate but couldn’t be let of the lead anywhere near other dogs.

Fast forward 6 weeks and she has a perfect snap shot recall and great loose lead walking and she happily trots next to the electric wheel chair whilst calmly listening to commands from mum.

Well done Pickle and family amazing work!!

I hope every dog owner gets an opportunity at least once in a lifetime to really travel with their dog. Travelling with my dog has been one of the most fun experiences of my life. However, it's not without its challenges. New smells, new landscapes, different cultures and new wildlife create massive change and disruption to an animal that thrives off routine.
