Go Play Go Sniff at Ayrshire Dog Care A large fenced area (divided into 3 separate areas for different activites) for your dog to enjoy off-lead play and exercise!

Sole use of all 3 areas during the time you have booked. Opened early 2014 - and the first of its kind - at our home on the outskirts of Ayr (Post Code KA6 5AG) we have set aside a large area of fenced grassland where your dog can enjoy off-lead play without the worry of meeting other dogs or people. The area - which has been divided into distinct sections - is available for hire for your exclusiv

e use. No other dog will have access to any of the areas during your allocated time slot and we have also put in place measures so that no dogs will meet in the large car park area. Our easily accessible well lit private car park is adjacent to the field and there are toilet facilities. We live on site so are always available to answer any questions you might have. Sole access to all three areas during the time you have booked. AGILITY AREA - "GO PLAY!"
Designated area featuring a full compliment of KC standard agility equipment. This area also has the Dog Cafe, which has a kettle, coffee machine, microwave, cooler and hot and cold running water. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar, biscuits, cup soup and cold drinks also provided but we ask that you pop a donation into the charity banks. Contents of these are sent to different dog charities. MOONIE'S MEADOW - "GO RUN!"
This area is for you and your dog to enjoy lots of interaction, free play, a good runaround and stretch of the legs - canine and human! We have provided chairs and tables 'al fresco'. Many people bring a picnic or we can provide one! We have floodlights which allow use of the area on dark winter nights and mornings. GHILLIE'S GARDEN - "GO SNIFF!"
This large sensory garden has been landscaped and developed to provide "quiet time" for you and your dog. Native trees and shrubs have been planted, paths laid and bridges built over the stream. Placed around the area are planters of dog friendly herbs and plants. There are a couple of lovely shelters as well as seating and picnic areas for the owners to relax whilst their dogs explore, investigate and use their noses as God intended! There is also the beautiful Memory Garden where we have erected plaques on behalf of people whose dogs have gone before.

A few of the reasons why I HATE them!

⚠ Retractable Leads ⚠

Ensuring the safety of your pets and others is incredibly important when using a retractable lead.

While retractable leads are appealing for their flexibility, it's vital to be aware of the potential risks and consequences that come with using them

🐾They can contribute towards bad walking behaviour and pulling.
We have seen many animals suffer from painful neck and back injuries with long-lasting effects.
Retractable leads can cause a snapback effect, that may result in injuries to the trachea and neck vertebrae.
An injured trachea can also lead to a persistent cough and affect your pet's breathing

🐾It's crucial to keep in mind, that even if your pet is not aggressive, how their behaviour might be seen by other animals.
Retractable leads can pose unexpected risks, as they allow pets to stray into the personal space of other dogs heightening the chances of conflicts.
The time it takes to pull back from an aggressive dog varies significantly between a retractable lead and a standard lead.
This disparity could be the difference between preventing an injury and a potential incident.

🐾When you're out walking your dog near the roadside, it's essential to select the appropriate lead.
We highly recommend using a regular walking lead, as it offers better control and safety for your pet.
During your walks, your dog will experience a variety of stimulating, captivating, and occasionally frightening situations.
Dogs on retractable leads have the freedom to run in any direction or chase something that grabs their attention, limiting your control.
A regular walking lead can prevent the danger of road accidents and injury.

🐾Excessive lengths of lead can pose a risk, not only to you and your dog but also to passersby, as they can become tangled or present a tripping hazard.

🐾However, we acknowledge that retractable leads can be useful when used carefully in a safe and open area, as they can aid in providing dogs with more freedom.

🐾If you choose to use them, please carefully evaluate your surroundings to ensure the safety of your pets and those around you. 💕
